A Few Things …
I’m working with Micah today and Chris Garneau this weekend. Somewhere in the midst of that I will try to mix these other White Limo B-sides for you guys and post them on the M.O. section this coming week. You know what they say, “mime is money”.
Sweet,
DS

O.k….now I’ve just been walking around for the past two hours saying “mime is money”. And then while cooking dinner I actually even broke into a little mime routine. Why is anything to do with mimes so funny?
July 22nd, 2005 at 5:31 pm
Er, I mean past hour, it felt like two…when you’re miming and all, time flies…
July 22nd, 2005 at 5:55 pm
No…wait…I meant the exact opposite. Time does NOT fly when you’re miming…it drags. And I can’t believe I’m having a conversation with myself on Duncan’s blog…So sorry…Holy cow…I could go on forever with the whole mime thing but you know, there’s a “mime and a place for everything”, and this isn’t it. Heh. See what happens when you’re bored. Alrighty, I’ll stop now…I’m done. *does the mime in a box thing*

Mime and mime again, I’m excited to hear about new stuff in the M.O. section. Especially when it has to do with White Limo. Can’t wait to see you in Chicago, Duncan.

Spinal Tap quoting, wonderful…
“We’re not what you would call University material…”
..that’d be my favorite.
That’s all,

Duncan,
When will you come to Sacto again? I miss you man. The last time I saw you was at the San Fracisco show in April of 2003!!! Where has the “mime” gone. Anyway, just so you know, you are so cool that a heavy music fan and member of the death metal band, Forsake the Flesh, (uh, that would be me) is one of your biggest fans…that translates to “genres and categories can’t contain genius” and music from the sould knows no boundaries. You have gotten me through more than one painful heartbreak over the last 8 years!!! Thanks for that…and keep em comin.

this is really random, but were you at the artist’s den in chicago on wednesday? i was there to see glen, and there was a guy standing next to me outside the apple store waiting who looked so much like you….but i didn’t want to say anything in case it wasn’t you. and i didn’t want to do the old “aren’t you…?” because it’s just not right.

Belated response to your question re: where we’re all from.
San Diego by way of Chicago. I saw you years ago in Chicago and then in Detroit (there was a guy leaning up on the stage gazing adoringly and mouthing every single lyric to you. That may happen to you all the time, but in case it’s an outlier, now you know which show I was at.) I’m very much looking forward to your SD show. (Sorry if that read like English is my second language. It’s late, and you get the point.)
I wanted to give you a head’s up on the *best* local eats when you’re here: Hash House (Fifth Ave in Hillcrest), which serves up the KILLER breakfast and Sushi Deli — the one on Broadway and 2d (Downtown) *not* Broadway and 8th. Caffe Italia on India for the best coffee. The bar at the top of the Hyatt for the prettiest view. Happy to take you to any of the above if you don’t know people in SD.
Have a good week everyone. Friday’s not so far away.
July 27th, 2005 at 2:33 pm
I am in the same pickle as Silky Joshi (only I am in Minnesota)…I’ve loved your music from the beginning but have never been at the right place at the right time to see you do your thing on stage…my sister, who is also a fan, saw you in San Fran a couple of years ago and let me listen to the first song over her cell phone….. and that is as close as I have come (sad attempt,I know, but it was better than nothing)
You are on my “concerts to see in my lifetime” list, so any help you can give me in completing this goal would be much appreciated : )

DUNCAN!
I feel so outta touch!! It’s been a while since I’ve scoped out the latest on ya. The new web design is kick A!! Who’d ever think that an artist would take the time to be so personal with their fans. Love it, man!!!
I was searching the site and about fell over when I saw you were coming to Ann Arbor, MI next week. I hope I can make it. Saw you here in Ferndale a couple years back. Great show.
I’ve been a fan also since before the first CD came out. I remember looking at our local entertainment mag, the Metro Times, and seeing this adorable picture of someone and reading great reviews of the first CD. I HAD to rush out and get it. I’ve been hooked since then.
I too am a musician. I’ve been playing piano since I was 6. Classical lessons for 8 years and now pretty much Top 40 stuff. I don’t get to play in cute little cafes in NY or smoky clubs in LA…….my gig here in Michigan consists of playing piano at a hair salon. No joke. The women can’t get enough of hearing me cover Celine Dion, Mariah Carey and “Summer Nights” from Grease. lol. Ohhhh, to be on stage with Dunky………ah, well, one can dream, right?!?!
Stay kewl! Stay creative! and Stay sane in this crazy state of the world we live in!!
David in Detroit ;-)

I can’t wait to see you [in concert] tomorrow nite. This will be the first time I’ve seen you perform. This venue seems pretty small…guess you care more about the music and not the money. That rocks!
Toodles,
Erica

I’m pleased as punch you’re coming to Phoenix, Duncan!! So many artists don’t come through here, I was beginning to worry that I wouldn’t see you!

Duncan, Duncan, Duncan! I saw you in Sellersville, PA last night - what a concert! You are truly as amazing in person as you are in your recordings! Way to keep your cool with the broken G-string during Barely Breathing :-P
I’ve always dreamed of being a true artist - but you truly have shown me what it’s all about… you are the most talented dude in music.
Keep doing the small venues - I enjoy the “personalized” concerts.
I was the dude screaming out my lungs as you were exiting the stage last night… you’re truly incredible! Thanks for playing the additional Radiohead song!
Cannot wait for Limo to come out!
A perfect concert - one I’ll always remember. I’ll be around to see you again at the World Cafe in Philly - if you tour there!
Take care - peace man!
