Stephen’s Talkhouse
So, we were kind of getting our sea legs out there last night, thanks for being patient with the not so perfect bits. And there was a little confusion as to how long we could play. They initially told us to finish by ten, but then the reggae band that was supposed to play afterwards didn’t show. So we could have (and would have) played more songs but we didn’t get the memo. Anyway, it was nice to be with the band again and we’ll be working more new songs into the set in August. Thanks so much to everyone who was there. Isn’t David Poe the best?

“Not so perfect bits”? I do not believe that is possible! I am sure everyone enjoyed the show.

I normally try not to play the role of the jovial “devoted fan” and instead enjoy quietly and to myself. But I just wanted to say that the last couple of shows that I’ve been fortunate enough to attend, (Larchmont and Hamptons) were amazing and very inspiring. Familiar faces emerge from the crowds and friendly conversation is spun from these people who would otherwise be strangers. A generous spirit is promoted. The Stephan Talkhouse show was great.
P.S. I hope that I wasn’t the only one who got to enjoy the beach after the show. It was a perfectly lovely conclusion to a beautiful evening.

Wow Andrew, sounds like a wonderful night! I wish I could have been there.
But I’m just thrilled I’ll get to see Duncan on September 17th in San Diego. Duncan, you’ve made the happiest gal in the world! Talk about an amazing birthday present. I’m treating myself to your concert. (But then again, I would even if it weren’t in September lol)

It was so nice seeing/hearing the band together again. I thought it was a fun show and I also thought you guys rocked, “not so perfect bits” and all. David’s great… I just LOVE his voice. He also made me laugh so much that my cheeks hurt. Can’t wait for that “rock band” album to come out.
Take care Duncan. Great seeing you again. :)

Having never seen you play with the full band before…it definitely was a treat, even with the “not so perfect bits”! The concert was a lot of fun…did not realize how small the place was…am not complaining…the venue was terrific…wow, the Hamptons in the summer. And, David Poe…well, not only does he sing well…a comedian too! You guys were AWESOME…cannot wait for more :-)
Cheers,

Duncan,
It was a wonderful night. I had never heard David before, and was pleasantly surprised. He’s a sweet man (OK, a little jack-assy in places - but I loved him). You two seemed to complement each other so well.
I half-expected you to play Sad Stephen’s Song … but I was not disappointed. The new songs were wonderful. I was moved when you dedicated the penultimate song of the night to Cindy.
Does she have a sister?

I saw Duncan in Memphis wow I guess 3 years ago when “Daylight” came out. Great show. I am so excited that he is playing again and especially excited that he is coming to Nashville! I was too nervous to ask for an autograph/pic in Memphis (and he was standing right next to me in the crowd watching another band) b/c I wasnt sure if he would be a jerk about it. From other fans reactions he isnt- I regret not asking him. Maybe I will this time!

You know, I’ve been listening to David for years now. He is pretty cool.
You two are at the Top of my List. :)
Much love & peace. Glad it was Fun Guy’s.

I saw the show in Northampton, MA a few weeks ago and was blown away. I can’t wait until you come back with the full band in the fall. My only suggestions would be:
-It should definitely be a “stand-up” show. Duncan Sheik deserves a standing audience ;)
-In Northampton, I think you played 3 different cover songs. Covers are nice, but I like your music even more! (I hope I speak for the majority on this one) If you could keep it to one cover at most and play more of your own music, I would be a very happy dude.
-If you could start recording more of your sets and hosting them on your site, I think that’d be fantastic. I love listening to the Cornell show, and now with your full schedule, I really think you could host some great sets online. Another option would be to record some of your sets on video and post some video clips of the shows. I know I would love to see that.
Anyway, thanks for touring so much, and I hope to see you back in New England in the fall.

Hi Duncan,
- I am not one of the fortunate ones to see you preform live, as I live way down here in Houston, Tx. I want to thank you for your music, it has touched me deeply. I promise you if you come anywhere near Tx or La. I will definately attend your shows or concerts. I would like to be notified if possible when you will be down htis way.
- I’m also impatiently waiting for your new CD to arrive in stores as I have everyone of your CD’s.
Thanks

Hey DS,
My friends and I made a two-hour trek from Brooklyn to Amagansett to witness your’s and David’s performance. It was definitely worth it.

Iz, it was three hours getting there ’cause of the lovely traffic we hit, but yes, it was absolutely worth it. I would definitely trek all the way over there again. I really liked the set-up there and the area is so beautiful.
Duncan, thanks for a great show…yet again.

If we wait until we’re perfect, we won’t ever do anything.

Anyone else have anything to thrill and amaze and amuse me on this dull Friday morning?
