Before I went to this concert, I had no idea what to expect. I had read somewhere that Duncan was "more comfortable" in the studio than performing live, so I came into the whole experience with an attiude of excitement but expected nothing special. Boy was I wrong.

This concert was great. (although I didn't care much for Hooverphonic's repetitive murky songs) One of the best moments in this show was when Gerry Leonard (Duncan's guitarist) alilas Spooky Ghost, played two songs from his album. Voodo was spectacular. His music has this great sadness to it.

But enough about the opening acts... you want to hear about Duncan... he is great live. He played all the songs from Humming (except for Everywhere Everyone, Foreshadowing and Nichiren) he also played other songs from his first album and the song "Fake Plastic Trees" by Radiohead. Which by the way is a great song especially when he plays it.

Again I have to mention that during Barely Breathing a man named Kennith got up and danced around like a strange eclecctic ballet dancer. It was hilarious. When Duncan had to stop the song the whole audience as well as Duncan and his band were cracking up. From then on the whole audience was truly involved and loving the show.

I didn't want him to go. Duncan played three encores before he left thought so I was ok. The music was spectacular. I was wondering before I went how he was going to compensate for the lack of strings, but Gerry Leonard brought a guitar looper which had recordings of the strings as well. To sum things up...
Duncan Sheik is a great artist who is also a great performer. I can't wait to see him again.
