Well, Nov. 5th has finally ended, and I am now free to write about my musical escapades of the day.
As some of you may know, I am a Wallflowers freak. Today, their newest release, fourth album, entitled "Red Letter Days", came out. I am really enjoying it. I think my favorite songs so far are the single "When You're On Top", "Too Late to Quit" and "Here In Pleasantville".
I also got David Gray's new cd "A new day at midnight". I am also enjoying this one. I've listened to it twice. I haven't really picked out any favorites yet.
The last cd I picked out today (can you tell my dad gave me some extra spending money this month? ) was the 1997 release from Our Lady Peace "Clumsy". it's a bit different from the one cd I have of theirs', and it sounds a little rougher. "Superman's Dead" and the title track stand out after one listen though.
Anyway, has anyone else picked up these cds?

Hey Steph...I have all of Our Lady Peace's CD's. Clumsy is one of my favorites -- although I must say that Gravity (their latest one) is now my favorite.
I saw OLP twice in concert and this last time (a couple of weeks ago) when they sang 4a.m. (from Clumsy), the lead singer, Raine, held the mic up and the audience sang the entire song. It was so cool and touching because if you listen to the lyrics to that song, they are unbelievable -- and to hear 8,500 people sing that song together was awesome. That's definitely my favorite song from Clumsy!
Daylight and Gravity have been in heavy rotation in my cd player since they were released!

RED LETTER DAYS rocks my world! Oh. My. God. This album is a classic if I ever heard one. Def. a contender for album of the year in my opinion. I may be a lil swayed but STILL! Jake's voice never sounded better. I kid you not people. This is their best album!! Go out and get it. Run, don't walk. Oh, and don't let people give you shit for liking the Wallflowers! I get it all the time but I keep my head up high. Those f-ers! The Wallflowers are AMAZING!

Steph! Are you seeing them on this tour?! God, no joke when they come to Boston, it's litteraly going to be a dream of a concert. OURS, one of my other favorite bands are opening for them! Too cool for words. I just saw Ours at a cd signed when their album came out on the 5th. Jimmy is just stellar live. His voice radiates beauty. Soooo good. And, he's quite easy on the eyes. My god. I totally hit on him... it was funny! It just came out. Ooooo la la la. What a doll. Yummm.

OK, I need to stop.

Rockness,
Maria

Nope, no one will go with me. I'm really sad about it, but I can't go without a car and since no one will go with me, I'm stuck here. ::sniffle::
Why do people give you crap for liking the Flowers? Everyone I've talked to about them likes them.

Steph*

Jeez, I get it all the time for liking The Wallflowers. Funny looks, darting eyes and shall I say, even "huh?!-are-you-for-real?" looks. But keep in mind, I have pretenious "friends" and live in a super prentenious city who measure a bands' worth by how much indie cred they *don't* recieve because if they got any, they'd no longer be cool. Blah. It's quite pathetic. But I try to keep myself out of that mess... I know what I like and stick with it.

God, I even get it for liking DUNCAN! I'm sure others have gotten flak for it, too, right?! When I mention that Duncan is one of my favorite musician, many make the whole "Barely Breathing" connection and automatically write him off as a one hit pop blunder. UGH. At this point in the conversation, I'm usually talkin' a mile a minute about how he's so much more than that, highlighting how that single reflects nothing of his musical GENIUS! Jesus! The man scored Shakespeare in the park! HELLO! They don't just give that out to any friggin joe schmo. He's the real deal, if I ever saw one.

I don't know... maybe I need new friends I'm actually attending the 'flowers gig alone which I'm quite stoked about because I'm determined to talk to Jakob. It's been a dream of mine to meet him, I must admit. It'll be cool, I won't have any silly friends rushing my out of the club and all that nonesense. Thank goodness for that.

Too bad you don't live in Boston, S! We could rock the show together

Hey Jen! I sure do... I just scaned it now but I don't have a way to put it on a site for viewing pleasure. Hmmm. I can email it to ya! It's too cool. Just let me know
