Ive heard one Bright Eyes song and it was one of the most terrible pieces of music ive ever heard, im hoping it doesnt speak for his other stuff. I believe its a new song, and its really long. And there is like talking going on in the backround.. its awful. He's hitting notes out of key, its just a mess.. IP: Logged |

I think that one's called "The Big Picture." I didn't think I liked Bright Eyes when I heard that one. Not all music has to be the same and fit within what music theory dictates. The world would be very boring otherwise. I would say listen to "Method Acting," "Lover I Don't Have to Love," or, if you're feeling adventureous, "Let's Not Sh*t Ourselves" or "Waste of Paint." right on, you guys rock!!! i purchased "lifted or the story is in the soil, keep your ear to the ground" on the basis of one song "lover i don't have to love". i had mixed emotions about the rest of the cd after one admittingly half hearted listen because it was so different. after that, i made a conscience decision not to listen to it again until after i checked out the live show (i usually get a better understanding of the music that way this is truly an artist that must be seen live. i was immediately drawn to the way conor expressed himself on stage. the passion and intensity in the delivery of each song was quite amazing. i just stood there like a sponge and soaked it all in. for me, it was very satisfying to see which instrument was creating the different sounds i heard on the cd. i guess i'm just visual that way it was truly awesome you guys. i haven't stopped listening to "lifted" since. now i can fully appreciate the cd for what it is, gorgeous! i even purchased 3 of his previous releases that night! when i told my friends "yeah, i checked out this really cool musican/band called bright eyes last night" all i got in response was "who the hell is bright eyes?" (lol) i'm so glad you all understand me
