I was reading through the posts and decided to start a new topic not related to music.

Do you believe in soulmates? Have you met your soulmate? Are you with him/her?

I'd love to hear your stories!!

(by the way, I do believe that everyone has a soulmate although you might not meet him/her for some reason, at least not in this life)

I'd say I'm in a relationship with my current soulmate... maybe there are others (definitely some friends of my are), but at least for the moment... Jesus, this moment lasts 4 years this September!

I think it depends on how you define soulmate; if you mean in the terms of someone who just gets you; in terms of how your mind works and how you think, yes of course. But I do not believe there is only one person for everyone, I think we are given many people in our lives with which we have the ability to have that connection with. And I do not believe that a relationship with such a person has to be one of romance, or a sexual nature.

I agree with Jenn for the most part. I have met several people that I might just be connected to for a very long time. But those are just friend relationships. But the person that I think, you know the one that has the possiblities to be a "soulmate", in a romantic kind of way, is not going to happen. He's a full 10 years older and engaged. But that is why I have to believe that we have more than one "soulmate" in life.

Well, I agree that we are given many people in our lives that are there for a reason and we do have a special connection with them but I believe that a soulmate goes beyond just a special bond. I don't know how many of you believe in reencarnation, but as I see it, a soulmate is a person that follows you through all your lives. It's hard to explain it in words, I don't know if any of you got me. Oh well, if anyone out there can explain better...please

I agree with Jen in the sense that a soulmate doesn't necessarily have to be part of a romantic relashionship. For instance I met my soulmate at a rather early age (16) and we're not together and never really dated. We were put in each other's lives when we were quite young and were separated from each other quickly for reasons that only a few years later I came to understand. I was living in Portugal at the time and had to move, so we are living in different continents now
But now that I know why things happened the way they did I can only be grateful for having met him. I think that when we try to find out the reason why things happen the way they do life becomes much more complete. We learn how to be grateful for everything that comes our way - good or bad!
