Much like all of you, I assume, I love me some music. One of my reasons for moving from the east coast into Montreal was the music scene here. I just couldn't spend the rest of my life seeing local bands in bars and pubs and driving anywhere from 3 to 12 hours to see a great show in another town. Not to mention I got offered a job here in Montreal after graduation, but lets talk about the serious stuff here....concerts. I have seen more great stuff in the 9 months I have lived in Montreal than I would have in my life back home. I have been lucky enough to have seen U2 twice, Travis, Rufus Wainwright, Remy Zero and Garbage. Next week I am seeing Dave Matthews Band with Bela Fleck and the Flecktones and in May I am on the guest list(!!) to see Jon Spencer Blues Explosion. I am not trying to brag or anything but I am so happy. I also found out that Sarah Harmer and Beth Orton are coming in May also. There is always something going on...I didn't know until today that the Chemical Brothers are here tonight (I am at work or else I would have gone). And in June when The Herbaliser comes I will be back home for a wedding so I won't get to see them....but it just amazes me. I guess it just hit me tonight how cool this is. What would really be great is to see Duncan. He would fill up the Spectrum, I know it. It's an awesome venue, great sound, great ambience. I saw Rufus there. I have a blow up mattress and a couch for some of you messageboarders if you make the trek here to see him. Rest assured I will be there right up front. OK, I better stop babbling and get back to work. Thanks for reading

Hi, George!

It's great to read that you're living the life in Montreal. Where exactly, did you live on the east coast? I remember a post that you put up about finally getting to see Dave Matthews. This past Friday, I had seen him again and had awesome seats! The show was awesome! Every time I see them they put everything they got into it- amazing, makes me wonder if they ever get tired. Did you know that they have their own Ben N' Jerry's flavor ice cream now? It's called "One Sweet Whirled". I have yet to try it.

Oh, and Sara Harmer is coming near your town? I'm jealous.

Take Care,
amy
