OK guys. I'm pumped. I've been chattin' with ya'll on an old beat-up half IBM clone/half piece of junk PC for a VERY LONG TIME. No sound card or software other than an internet link. So little wolf's grandpa (grandpa wolf) has purchased a rockin' new I-Mac with a scanner and printer! What a waste of a topic, I know. But you have to understand that we're having Christmas in July today. The hubby's downstairs going through four boxes getting ready for set-up.
Yeah, the present is mainly for little wolf, but it's for the family. My dad ordered it -and being a computer guru, loaded about a zillion other things onto it and sent around a million dollars of new software for it before he shipped it!
Point of topic you ask??? LOL...I might be MIA for a few days til we get the sucker hooked up and online and I just wanted to wish everyone well, and though I may be gone for a bit, I'm comin' back with a mean lean cruzin' machine!! Pure dynomite. Wish us luck that we don't blow the thing up or something...
Shari.

That's sweet Shari. And Jenn is going to weave her magic and make this a topic. And I have always been curious about this one, who out there is Mac and who is PC? I am PC, but have been considering buying myself an ibook, I just have not decided if I am willing to make that trade since my education is in Windows and I use it at work.

I have an Imac that my parents gave me for Xmas last year. I love it. It works great and is easy to set up.

Back in awhile!
Michele - Color is COOL graphite and you can see the innards! Also, we have a scanner now, so when we figure out how to use it, I can post my Duncan pics!!

way to go, we have an Imac at home, and despite a few blips along the way, we love it..bought it one edition too soon to have dvd tho, and that hurts.

Macs rule (tho I use a PC at work)!!!

All I can say right now is...
WWOOOOOWWWW!!!!!!
So much to explore; so much to learn. But as a musician, I'm really looking forward to the Mac's superior quality in re-producing creative endeavors . Ken, I'm sure you've witnessed as an artist the I-Mac's superb graphic capability, and for those of us with kids, the software is really outstanding. I think MacInstosh in general is more suitable for those wanting to produce creatively...the possiblites seem endless. I can even write music by plugging in an electronic keyboard and using the software. Apple is the pioneer behind "Windows" that you see from Microsoft now. The Mac has always been a "point and shoot" computer - easy to operate and user friendly. However, we have Microsoft Office for the Mac, and all the "analytical" stuff that makes PC's so great - but the PC is a better machine for word processing, tracking stocks, etc. But the graphics on the Mac are just incredible, and my son now has software to last him at least five years before we'll need to upgrade!
All that needs to be said! WOW.

I am a PC lover, but as an artist myself, I am so very jealous of you! Macs rock for graphics and all that good stuff!!! I salute you and your new mac!

You go girl!

Well, I'm Stephanie and I have a HP. I love it. I'm hoping to get a HP pavillion laptop for college. A laptop is coming, I hear, as a late graduation present. HURRAH!!! And I don't like Macs. They aren't compatible with school computers and I'm not used to them anymore (I had computer class on Macs in middle school). Give me Windows.
