There has been some speculation that Duncan is gay. I disagree. Though, there are some artists that many of you on the board listen to that are gay. For example, Rufus Wainwright is gay. Now, I'm thinking that Micah Green is gay for some reason...Correct me if I'm wrong. I am not gay, and I wouldn't care if Duncan was gay, just as long as his music is good. And it is.

Hey Drifter,

Don't know why I decided to chime in here. The topic simply tickled me, I guess. No, I do not believe that Duncan is gay, though I do not know this for certain. He could be living happily with a goat for all I know (or care). It's the song lyrics I'm going by. The first cd in particular had quite a few songs starring Duncan as a pathetic, lovelorn, romantic figure sobbing melodically about a lady who had either told him goodbye, or never really said hello.
"Little Hands" and "Serena" both come to mind as examples of this type of "why-doesn't-she-love me" ballad. Anyway, that's my take on it in case you were serious about this topic. Plus, he seems like the sort of guy who would choose to be pretty unafraid and open about his sexuality, if he were seriously asked about it. I'm sure some interviewer would have dragged it out of him by now. Just my thoughts on this odd query.

Peace,
Bodhi

Gay people are human beings, too. If Duncan were gay, that wouldn't make me love his music more or less. Besides, it's his personal life, and others, we're talking about here, and I've always respected my fellow humans and their sexual preferences and if he (supposing) or any other person makes it public, hey, good for them. Personally, I don't think Duncan is gay.

uh seems like i remember something about the photo of Duncan & Micah being taken at Micah's wedding also.

why does it matter if they are gay or not? why should it even be a question on the board? sorry, i just don't get it.

I agree with you Angee. It really doesn't matter at all. We love him for who he is, not who he goes out with, or the clothes he wears, etc...

I don't know... Isn't it some law that Dunan has to be gay? All the great guys on Earth are gay or taken... And as far as I know, he isn't taken... It's just a fact of life that every man I want is unreachable. So that must mean Duncan is gay... *jk* *hehe*\

Actually, I don't think that Duncan is gay. Which is probably why the women all want to rape him... But there is a pic of him inside one of the CD covers that is very feminine... Are we going to get into specifics? Hey, I know. How bout we ask.

Duncan, love, are you gay?

Wasn't that easy? *hehe*

Okay, don't want to sound bitchy or anything, but I feel that there is a certain line that should not be crossed when speculating about other people's personal lives. I think we should let this topic go and let all of the artists of the world, including Duncan, go on with their lives whether they are gay, straight, bi, or whatever. Like Angee said, does it really matter what Duncan's sexual preference is? And is it really any of our business in the first place? I mean, do you think it would be cool to see a bunch of people talking about your sexual preference on a message board on the web? I know I wouldn't appreciate it too much. So, out of respect to Duncan, I think this topic should be closed. Give the poor man some peace. I think he would treat us with the same type of respect

Cheers,
Sam

Don't know if he's gay, but either way is cool. Umm... other gay artists? Dave Matthews. I heard David Gray is an ASSHOLE.

He He He. So funny! Broken G, I wasn't sure if you were being flip and funny, or if you honestly misunderstood. If you were cracking a joke, just ignore this little message, but if not, I just wanted to let you know that Drifter's question was whether or not Duncan is "Gay" as in Homosexual, not "Gay" as in really bad, or a big loser. Although, that comment about David Gray was really, really, really funny! And it's great that everyone is interested enough in this thread to post that they are "not interested" in the topic at all. Tres Drole ( for any French speakers, sorry for the lack of accents. Darn my computer!!)
Peace all.

Didn't mean to offend anyone. Thought I would make light of the topic instead of discussing intimate details of Duncie's personal life...

But I still hold to the gay or taken rule. He must be seeing someone...

Blessings, all.
Sweet dreams, I'm going to bed!

in a recent interview he said he was definitely attached. which could mean anything. when i heard that i thought well that means nothing. he is attached to his penis. his penis could get attached to many things.

Well, I personally would not want to hear music by a gay person singing about their relationship with someone of same sex...And I doubt any of you all would as well.

Maybe I'm wrong...

Actually Drifter, I disagree...
I don't see how it would change anything if someone were singing about a homosexual or a heterosexual relationship... There are tons of gay artists out there who sing very passionately about their relationships and have created some amazing music. we are probably not even aware of many who are gay... Most songs you can't tell unless you're getting stuck on listening to the pronouns in the song...

Well, lovesongs are lovesongs to me, no matter who the object of desire happens to be. I rather like music that worships a specific sex object as long as the lyrics aren't too maudlin and the music is good. Music, I mean good music, seems to rise above such minor distinctions. Love is a beautiful thing, no matter who it happens to exist between. Just tossing in my two cents here. Peace,
Bodhi

Right on Bodhi and Britt - Ever listen to "Come To My Window" by Melissa Etheridge or anything by the Indigo Girls?
Mostly songs about love, like anyone else would write about - and even though I know these women are homosexual, I interpret the songs in my own way , just like any other song by any other artist - gay or straight. That's the beauty of music. No one really knows the story behind what the artist is expressing except that artist, and listeners will always intrepret any song to fit their own personal situation. In the end, it just doesn't even matter enough to me to be replying about this - but I'm quickly trying to end the agony of approaching my 500th post, so that I can get on with my retirement party - you're all invited.

I just think--Hey, if I can think men are so beautiful, why shouldn't everyone be able to appreciate their beauty too?! Ya know?!
