I want to rent some more movies today, although I don't know of any good movies to rent. Maybe your recommendations would help, thanks.

Oh, and I'd rather not see anything romantic so don't make any romance recommendations. Thanks

well, you shouldn't ask me, I am a movie snob and a movie buff at the same time, and it makes for some schizoid moments..but...having said that, I rented Panic, with William H. Macy, Donald Sutherland and Neve Campbell...a dark, but sometimes funny story about a hit man (the family business) who wants out...

You Can Count on Me is out on video and is a great little movie, slow moving to some probably, but with some great performances (a brother and sister get back together after some time...both have their own problems, including having their parents die in a car accident when they were really young).

Proof of Life wasn't bad, and I'm a big Russell Crowe fan (but if you want to see his best, rent Romper Stomper and The Sum of Us, two incredibly different movies)

O Brother Where Art Thou was great, but may be an acquired taste. Dunno how old you are Drifter, or if you like action movies only, etc...this one is wacky, and probably strange to many...but the Coen brothers are always good (they did Raising Arizona, among others).

Traffic is a really good, layered, multi-story movie about the drug trade (the best segment is the mexican one, in my opinion...tho it was a trip to see that strait-laced 70's show guy as a druggie carousing wastoid!)

Best in Show was hilarious (made my the Spinal Tap team)...dog show dogs and their owners...and a great cast.

help at all?

Why, the Saint or Great Expectations would be my first choices as a Duncan Fan

Shadow of the Vampire - Willem Dafoe's vampire is oh so creepy... but he's often funny too.

Traffic, Best in Show, State and Main, Unbreakable, and O Brother Where Art Thou are also worth viewing.

A Life Less Ordinary (Cameron Diaz & Ewan McGregor... a "romantic" comedy, but more funny than anything)...

Legend

Powder

The Crow (hello, only the best movie of all time!)

Benny & Joon

Dead Poet's Society

...since none of them are new releases, you should be able to find them all.

Hmm... should mention some classics...

- John Carpenter's 'Dark Star'
- Definitely 'Clockwerk Orange' (isn't that Kubrick?)
- John Landis' 'Blus Brothers'
- the 'Kentucky Fried Movie'
- Monty Python's 'Life of Brian'
- Monty Python and the holy grail

Modern films:

- 'Belle Epoque'
- Try 'God's Army', with that awfully good Christopher Walken
- Definitely 'Dogma'...!
- I know, the film is worn out, but I'd also say 'Good Will Hunting'

Traffic
Rainman
Dustin Hoffman blows my mind!
LA Confidential
Gotta love Kevin Spacey!
My Own Private Idaho
Little Buddha
Keeping the Faith
Edward Norton! Ah, sigh!
Anything with Richard Gere!!
Prince Charming or something like that. Not sure of the title, but it takes place in TriBeCa. Don't know if it was filmed there or not, but oh well.

Peace
Jennie
