Hi ya Duncan, I am a musician and am very greatful that you put up the guitar tunnings for the Phantom Moon CD. I hope your having fun recording your next album. So along the lines of recording music I have some music that is very "Duncan" that I have wrote but my talent is with music not words and so do not have any words to go with my cool music. If you get stuck and or want a break from recording I would like to share my song with you, in hopes that you might use it. Your message board has my e-mail and if you would like Ill record some of my song send it to you and send along some tab of it, just let me know. Thanks Duncan PS Loved the show you did in SanDiego Nyloc IP: Logged |

Goodness... It's been a long time since I've been here... Skimmed through most of the questions... Amusing that controversy can come from such a fun, funny comment... Being that we don't *really* know Duncan's sexual preferences, I think we should probably just stop getting defensive about who is offering to rape him... (While Duncan is touchingly beautiful and I can still feel the imprint of his fingertips on my skin, --hello, energy-- I don't think I could do the whole french hairy thing that he supposedly likes... Gove him but gotta be me...) Anywho. I have a couple pix of me with Duncan in which I am wearing boots that give me maybe an inch, and Duncan is maybe a couple inches taller than me... So I'm guessing about 5'8"? Blablabla... My question is: When is the next tour?! I'm getting anxious! (I was the one they wouldn't let into the Zephyr in SLC, UT?) Enough, I'm babbling... Okay, maybe one more... Do you ever get to the point where when people profess your love for you, you just kind of cringe and smile to be nice? It would seem to me that although the people feel they know you, they are still strangers to you, and it would get really strange and overwhelming (an invasion of personal space, perhaps?)... Yeah. I'm done, I swear. IP: Logged |

*lol* This may get some flak from the other readers, but where's the sense of humor?! I know everyone loves the serious posts, but I'm a bit tired of running religion into the ground right now... Everyone forgot THE question that you are always supposed to ask!! Sheesh! Boxers or briefs?! *hehe* (Not a serious question, I'm just laughing that no one thought to add it as a joke by now)... Love. IP: Logged |

Hello Duncan! I just want you to know how cool I think it is that you post here. I've never known of an artist doing that. But then again, you're not the average artist. I just love your music. My favorite songs are Varying Degrees of Con-Artistry, Home, Days Gone By, End of Outside, Alibi, Foreshadowing, and now Mr. Chess, This Is How My Heart Heard, A Mirror in the Heart, and Far Away. There's not a song that I don't like. I just got Phantom Moon this past weekend. I haven't been able to find it anywhere. I was so excited to find it. I was just wondering if you could come to Houston on your next tour. I have not gotten to see you live yet and would love the opportunity. I love your music. It always puts me in a good mood. I can listen to your music forever. I never get sick of it. I play your CDs over and over. I think I've worn out my Humming CD. Please e-mail me if you ever get the chance. The list has my address. btw, you're about the best looking man I've ever seen. Just thought I'd let you know. ![]() IP: Logged |

Hello! I'm from Brazil and it's really hard getting any news about Duncan here since, unfortunately, he's not really well-known. I know he came here a few years ago which was when I first heard of him. He was giving an interview at a radio station and I just "fell in love" with him just by listening to the interview and when they played his song...I was amazed! I was wondering if/when he'll ever come again. He writes beautiful music and I'd really love to get to see him perform! I won't give up hope of seeing him!!! IP: Logged |

Hmm, my thoughts exactly....wasn't there something about the new release coming out sometime this spring? Or was that when recording was to begin? Anyway, I'm hoping that it will be out this fall, lets say sometime "before" halloween? It would make one heck of a birthday present for myself I'm also hoping that you might be out in California touring around then too, and if you don't make it to San Francisco, try San Jose, I hear the arena is a pretty nice place to play ![]() IP: Logged |

Hello Duncan, I was just wondering, like some people were too, if you will come to Brazil? I read in one of the posts that you had been here once (which I didn't know), so when are you coming back? It's really hard to find anything about you here. The CDs are rare, like it was said, we can only find it if we order them. The videos are nonexisting and MTV has never even mentioned your name. We can also find some songs on the internet, but that's not what I want, I want all the albums, since you're my favourite singer. Couldn't you do something to increase the publicity you have in here? I don't know how much you're involved with marketing and propaganda, but it would be very nice if you were more anounced in Brazil. I discovered you through the soundtrack of Three to Tango. I listened to That Says It All and fell in love with it. Every single friend I had that got to know you through me loves your work too. I think it would do you only good if your space here was wider, because we're all eager for good music. Two more questions: what do you think about music being spread on the Internet as mp3? What's your favourite song from the three albums of yours? Thanks a lot for the time, PS. last question: how many instruments are played in House Full of Riches? How many did you play? IP: Logged |

I become so addicted to the music and the lyrics, mostly on the first album. . . but the second album as well. The third lulls me. I can't get enough - the guitar, the voice. The only thing that can make me feel better when nothing else can. So beautiful. IP: Logged |

First off I just wanted to say that I have always loved your music Duncan. I was 15 almost 16 when your first CD came out, and I'm 21 almost 22 now. There are so many songs that I can relate to, starting with Barely Breathing which was the first song I ever heard. (I already posted about that under the my first time board). Whenever I'm depressed or lonely or something I put on one of your CD's. I especially love Little Hands and Longing Town, and I cannpt wait to get your newest CD. I did have two questions. Duncan, you know why I like you so much? You don't follow the hype. I know you realize that you could be huge if you changed your image to fit the society's perception of a "band member", but instead, you do your own thing, and that's what makes you better than the rest. Keep up the incredible work. IP: Logged |

Hi Duncan, Have you any plans to do a gig in the United Kingdom? Having to get the CDs on Import as they didnt get released over here in England probably means the answer is No, but i was wondering if there might be a low key appearence in London planned or anything? Thanks a lot, good luck with the Central Park festival and looking forward to catching Daylight when it comes out, Tim. IP: Logged |

Hi Duncan, I feel like I'm being a pest by asking this question because I've asked ita million times before, but I have never gotten an answer!! I am from Rochester, NY, and the past two times you have been to Rochester I was either too young to go, (you played at a bar called Milestones,) or I was out of town. My ULTIMATE musical goal in life is to see you in concert, so when are you coming back to my hometown? If you do come back to Rochester again, NOTHING will stop me from being there. IP: Logged |

Hi Duncan.. I want to thank you for what you've provided all of us who've found and fallen in love with your sound and words. You have such a gift.. seems like the recurring theme is that you have an ability to move us. I heard you in a store, bought the self-titled and absorbed it continually for a very long time. I always listen to your albums in entirety.. they just seem to flow so perfectly. Lately I haven't even been able to listen to some of your music because of some emotional attachments, but I am still so drawn and want to be able to enjoy it again soon. I know I will. I saw you at the Crocodile Cafe last year in Seattle.. this is my third summer here on the west coast. I was ecstatic to find you were playing there. It was absolutely a perfect venue for you.. the ambience was ideal. I also wanted to let you know that spooky was so amazing to me. He seemed like a precious, quiet little jewel back there behind you. He really captivated me. I hope you'll bring him again soon and come see us in Seattle at the Croc.. I know it might be a while, but I am waiting for the day! Thank you for moving us. I know you're developing, and am happy to discover more as you reveal it. You know, it was so freeing to just sit in that little jewel box at the Croc and let those passionate wails wash over me.. they often bring me to tears and it was a special thing to sit there and feel like I could enjoy and revel quietly. Thank you, thank you. Please come back soon... and bring spooky, Amy Correia and her partner! (I can't remember her name..) Oh my gosh. I had forgotten you played a show a while back with Edwin McCain. He is the only other performer who moved me the way you did. So beautiful! Come back, Duncan. We need you! IP: Logged |

I've skimmed through most of this topic and it seems a few people are asking duncan how to get into the music business. I think the answer is pretty simple. You just start playing in front of people you don't know. I mean as soon as you get enough people that like what you are doing then all of a sudden you have a fan base and then you might go over to the next town or something and play there. The music business is sketchy, but playing music isn't, just do that enough and you'll be fine. IP: Logged |

Duncan, First, thank you for providing some great inspiration through your song, HOME, for me and my girlfriend. It's kind of been the theme of our relationship. Question is, who did you write it for? I'm a musician myself, (Pianist) and just signed with a local label with my first album. (easy listening). I really appreciate the making of your music. Dearest Duncan, I have so many questions but alas so little time. I will try to be brief and to the point. I am a musician who was in a band for a little while until we broke up. After which I had the drive to continue. Your first album was my inspiration to try and do something with my music. Fast Forward to today I have completed my fourth album and want so badly to be where you were with your first album. My goal is to be a career musician. Can you give me any insight at all as to how i can manage to achieve such a task? You are my hero, and my inspiration. Bob Marino - Blinman's Masquerade IP: Logged |

as another musician .. you'd probably be the best person to ask this kind of question .. so here goes .. im workin on goin to berklee next year cause i wanna be a songwriting major.. but i constantly find myself conflicted .. everyone is always telling me not to do it.. for reasons varying from music being a very dry occupation to berklee costing so much.. no matter how far i stray from my path .. all it takes is one strum of my guitar string .. or one decent song off the radio to throw me back on track just as dedicated as ever... so my question is .. while you were workin your way to where you are now .. did you experience the same kind of conflict between what you want .. and what people say is best for you ?
