Indeed, Duncan did a great job opening for Ben Folds! So now, when will Duncan embark on his own personal tour like the one he did when 'Phantom Moon' was released?

By the way, it was cool meeting some other die-hard Sheik freiks at the Barrymore for the Madison, WI concert. Nice meeting you too, tdoglovin!

Oooo la la! You're a doll. The pictures rock, Tim. Look at Duncan being all studly with his tan and that cute hair.

What's the deal on that poster? Some one make it? It's very cool.

So, did he tell ya personally that he's gone to your site?!!! Amaaaazing!

actually--that giant poster was printed by SavageGavin and that is him in those pictures. He had Duncan sign a few CD sleeves and the huge poster. Gavin then gave me a promo daylight poster to get signed (I only brought my CD along)

Im the guy in the white shirt with the blue collar and Gavin (a fan I met for the 1st time @ the show) is wearing a green shirt.

Duncan did tell me personally (Gavin heard it) that he has been to DuncanSheik.ORG. I dropped a little plug encouraging him to stop on by but he had already been there. That made me very happy. He also remembered signing my guitar in his dressing room in March of 2001.

The whole night was just GREAT!

Quick Question:

I was dumb enough to think that I could wait until the last minute to get tixs...(short on cash). Anyway, someone told me about Duncan carrying on a long conversation with a fan right in the middle of his set? Any idea what this was about?

just curious....

I dont know that it was a "long conversation"
But it was entertaining nonetheless

A girl standing about 10ft from me said "you are supercute" to Duncan after his first song. Duncan replied with "well you are supercute too" and then she said that she liked his shoes. He responded saying that he would never take his shoes off again. After that Gerry stepped in saying "are you two finished" and the song went on from there. That was about it. It was kind of a quirky situation for the other 1300 people watching the little conversation though.

There was another point after "For You" where some girl (maybe the same one) said "I really liked that song" or something to that effect. Duncan got a peculiar look on his face at that point and made a comment about how "all girls are hopeless romantics until..." then he stopped and said that he was not going to start getting cynical. He went on playing after that.

*Sidenote* Whatever it was he was going to say-- I agree.

I think that sums it up from my perspective

That's much better than the show I went to. Someone behind me thought "Buttpirate" was appropriate to yell at the top of their lungs. I only hope Duncan didn't hear it, and although he didn't stop and yell at the twerp, I would have if I could have found him.

I agree too. Except I've already hit "until..."

ok, first of all i have to say tim . . . you have the most INCREDIBLE GREEN EYES! omg! and what a great poster of duncan, yummy!
secondly, i have to ask . . . are duncan's teeth really that yellow? i thought he was just an occasional smoker? and i noticed in all his pics lately at shows he has been very very causual. not the normal spiffy clothes he usually wears. think maybe cos he's 'not looking around'?
oh, and lastly, nice pic of duncan scratching his back. bet he's just gonna love that one . . . i know i do.

Hey folks,

Yup, it's official, I heard from Duncan himself that he has indeed visited Tim's www.duncansheik.org website Now, if we can only get him to sign in the guestbook....

And Tim, yes you're more than welcomed... My only regret that night is that I should have brought a few more posters (I had more at my apartment) so that you guys could have Duncan sign them and take them home...

Anyway, I'd just like to say that I hope to get to know some of you wonderful folks here better. I'm new to the message boards, so this should definitely be an interesting experience!

And finally, I have to agree, the last picture with Duncan scratching his back - I say I should print out a HUGE poster from that picture and have Duncan sign it the next time he comes to town. lol

nite,
-gavin

Thanks for posting the pics, Tim. How cool that Duncan remembered you - what a good experience you must have had that night. I've been meaning to send a little something for the Fan section of your website, but I keep forgetting. Maybe you should post a new topic here to remind people that they can contribute their pics, stories, etc., even $ to help keep it going ... bet you might get a few new takers, or at least have some people checking out the site that haven't seen it before. Just a thought...

I can't believe I missed Duncan!!!!!!!!! Of course, the month that my computer (and internet) crash, is the month he comes to town! For as long as I can remember, I've been hoping that he'd come to Madison. I just can't believe that I missed the one concert I wanted to go to more than any other! I'm gonna cry! LOL! I can only hope he comes back to the Mad Town! It'll never be as sweet as the real deal, but at least there are some great pics I can swoon over! Come back soon Duncan!
