There is an article and very good picture of Duncan in the latest winter issue of Grace magazine. It is a full page of just Duncan, woot! Here is what Duncan has to say about us on the message board, hehe.

"Sheik's fans may have a coment or two, since the slightlty "racy" subject matter involves the sexual awakening of adolecents in the late 19th century Germany. They're encouraged to interact on a message board on the singer's Web site (which he checks fequently), and they aren't afraid to pipe up if they find something amiss.

"My fans are not stuffy, but they tend to be more conservative. (People) also think because I kind of got the sensitive singer/songwriter tag, I'm supposed to be all sweet and innocent and light and I'm not", says the practicing Buddhist. "I'm just not and I don't necessarily want to be. I want to be a good person and I have a moral code that I can live with. However, that doesn't mean there isn't a fair amount of bad behavior."

I will scan it later guys and put the whole page up for you guys. I just wanted to let you guys know we all got a little mention in the latest interview with Duncan.

Oh also I was out at a bar and they played "On A High". Ok all for now.

his remarks don't surprise me in the least. this is why i thought it was such a hoot for him to include "magazines" on his latest collection. just the simple idea of this so-called nice boy outlining his more prurient interests alone makes it so worth it. this is also why i was really hoping it would be the next single, but oh well.

plus i think alot of his, i dunno, "less conservative" fans just simply don't take the time to post. people have lives, after all.... tho' i sure am happy to read posts that sound like normal people, swear words and all, and not supersocialized stepford residents. vive le difference!

so, what's "grace" magazine? how come i've never heard of it? or have i....?

thanks for posting the quote.

Grace is a magazine for women size 12 and up. I like it, I think it promotes a positive self image no matter what size you are.

OK.. most people just have never ave eard of Grace... i mean i don't read to many magazines that are not interior related (i'm going to school for that).

See i understand how many of his fans are 'conservative' but I personally will say that I don't catoragize myself of being conservative. So.......

Tiddy, you are so bad, but very funny.

When I first came to this site I thought we had to be conservative. Guess I learned my lesson, again, just be yourself and let the rest take care of itself.

Ok, how 'bout this?

I think Duncan is one hot little fucker and if there was ever the chance I would ravage that boy unrecognizable....

Is it hot in here or is it just me?

I was in CVS yesterday and I picked up the magazine there.

I think it's strange that Duncan thinks most of his fans are consevative. I live a conservative lifestyle, but I am not really a conservative thinker. I'm open to all kinds of ideas.

Maybe it's just me, but I haven't thought that Duncan is all sweetness and light, he's a human being and, as such is not perfect. I wouldn't expect him to be, but if his perception is that the fans expect that of him, there must be a certain amount of pressure over it.

As for Wishful Thinker's remark about "Heffa' Mommas", I'm sure it was a joke, but 68% of American women are over size 12. It doesn't make them fat, and many of them are not even overweight, they just don't fit into the media's ideal woman, however there are many men whose ideal women are over size 12.

And, yeah, Duncan is fuckin' hot. If he ever developes an attraction to short overweight housewives, tell him to give me a call.

Yeah, you can buy Grace in the grocery stores. I got mine at Walmart. It comes out every three months or so right now.
And Tiddy who wants a woman who is all skin and bones???? Luckily not my hubby, he thinks Vicoria Secret is an advertisement for breast implants and anorexia!!!! It is true that the majority of women are a size 12 and over. I think that society and the media are slowly starting to realize this. I work at Lane Bryant and I see so many women of different sizes and shapes come in and try on clothes and they all look so beautiful. Beauty is an attitude not a size, I say flaunt it baby!!!!

i think what he means is really what i'd call "conventional." i mean, it's definitely not a full-on slam, but his fans, at least the ones at the shows, are NOT like, say, limp bizkit fans or garbage fans. you're not getting the skate boys and raver types or goths. whatever; i'm just saying....

i truly hate categorizing people, but there's a reason he pointed out that he's more than he appears. "conservative" types tend to think in terms of appearances and then extrapolate a personality structure from that. in our media-driven culture, we all tend to think in terms of "images," so it's not unusual to have to continually deal with people thinking one thing or another based on the kind of jeans you're wearing, for example. but it is pretty fucking annoying after awhile....

toodles for now,

Kind of ironic I think that he did an interview for a magazine for plus size women and he is dating a "very tall thin model" (as quoted in another post). I think it is good though-- the magazine thing. I have never heard of it, but I'm going to check it out. I'm no stick figure myself. I do think it is annoying that people think a size 10 or 12 even warrants being called plus size. I was about that size when I was thinner and I was in no way plus size-- I was normal, athletic size, actually thin. It all just depends on the brnd of clothes and your body shape and size. I mean when I was that size, I could honestly say that ,my but and thighs were smaller than J-Lo and I dont think she is called plus size. Anyway, just my little tangent. We are all beautiful at any size right??!! I have been very thin and also know the opposite end of it. It is not an easy thing to deal with, though I do wish I was somewhat thinner, but in no way skinny. Guys like something to hold on to right?? he he
Happy Thanksgiving!!

hehehehe....somebody's stuck a chord....glad melissa understood it...hehehe

as the ever knowledgable Cartman would say...
"Hey! I'm not fat, I'm big boned!"

did any of you guys catch the recent episode where they have to go to the tolerance museum...

"Take for istance you friend here (the lady is talking about Cartman). You may call him fatty, boob man, fat ass, and the likes, but what you have to understand is that it is his life choice."

and Cartman replies...."Dude, this tolerance thing kicks ass! You see guys, it's my life choice."

lol...funny stuff....

i think the accurate quote was "tall (very) thin model". but yea....

duncan is physically beautiful and i would love to fuck him senseless (and in a perfect world, that would happen).

quick question for all those who agree with me about duncan's fuckability...." my favorite physical feature of duncans is...."

and if everyone answers eyes....i won't believe you.

and hey, about the whole weight thing...beauty is an attitude and while being a 12 isn't overweight or whatever, neither are all the thin girls anorexic or have problems.

personality counts and if you're a 2 or a 22, you can be as beautiful outside as a goddess and still be as ugly as sin.

Hmmm.... Regarding Duncan's fuckability/best physical feature, that's a tough one. While his eyes are dreamy, I'd have to say his hands are my favorites. Think about the talent he has in those incredible fingers! (Oh, and his ass isn't bad either.)

Yeah, that's for suckers. Anway, I don't have to be all embarrassed when I'm droppin' F bomb. Old school, baby, old school...

I'd have to go with his...hmmm... wow, this is a toughy, fuck... well, ok, I think his eyes are just killer and his face and the way he smiles and his voice, but you're right, his hands are great too... whoa, nelly!

Indeed tough.

Finally sought out Grace. I looked everywhere I came across magazines but got nada. It actually showed up at this random 24 hr. convient store which was surprising. Although, I didn't actually buy it... I just read the Duncan article and put it back. haha. I'm sneaky, huh?

Duncan told the journalist that he comes to the message board often and reads our rambling, but why not post?

We'd love to see you around these parts more, D. Woohoo!

There are some very naughty people on this board, there goes your Conservatives board members...

On the subject on Duncan's appearance in Grace Magazine, I would like to think that he is making a statement about loving (or appreciating) all types of women, thin or not, short or tall.

I agree with you Rina, on the reason why he was in Grace magazine. I'm not sure if anyone listens to Christina Augilera (btw.. I am not a big fan of hers) or not but hearing about Duncan's interview made me think of her new single "Beautiful". That we are all beautiful no matter what other people think of us and their words shouldn't hurt us.

As far as how conservative or non-conservative people here are.. I have no clue. I haven't been posting here all that long, but everyone here seems to be nice.

wouldn't it be funny if duncan does post to the board under a ficticous name and we did't even know it but he participates in our convos? ha, that would be great . . . i mean, if you think about it, if you knew you where talking to duncan you might not say 'exactly' whats on your mind, but if it was just another b/m . . . just a random thought.

I bet he is posing as a fan member, lol. That would be a good idea. I agree, if we knew we were talking to him in the flesh, then we might act a little different and not let loose as much. I really dont even know what I would say to him anyway. I know he hears all the time how much people love his music and how it inspires them and blah blah blah. I feel that way, but I dont want to tell him what he hears all the time. I really dont know what I would say to him, but out of nervousness, would probably end up telling him how much I love his music, blah blah blah, lol. My name usually breaks the ice and gets a little conversation going because it is so different. I guess I may rely on that, lol. I will only have to wait until I can meet him at his next show closest to me. COme to Nashville!!

I love this line of conversation! Man, I've missed being on the boards but school majorly cut into my free time. But now, Winter Break is upon us one more and now I have more free time.
In relation to the remark of Duncan having "conservative" fans, I have to kind of agree a teeny weeny bit in my part. I do dress kind of conservatively but that's where the conservativenss ends. I'm a complete liberal, being member of the Green party and more than likely anger many oil tycoons.

Anyways, that was my response to the above satement. As for the other line of questioning, I find Duncan's face a complete asset, especially his lips and boyish likeness. Don't ask. I just have a thing for boyish good looks.

And yes, Duncan has a very high Fuckability rating in my book, if only I wasn't waiting until I get married
Oh well.

As for the last line of questioning, it is true that not all guys like skinny model-shaped girls. Believe me, I happen to know firsthand from a friend that a member of The Strokes "Fab" likes regular, average girls. And this man is also completely gorgeous, so it is completely irrelevant if you're either skinny or too fat.

But I do know how hard it feels to not be the skinny one. I come from a line of very skinny relatives and just because I became like a size 7 or 9 my family was always teasing me about the weight I put on. Now, I'm more careful since I also have the propensity to becoming a diabetic and I have to be careful what I eat.

But as I reiterated before, just because you're skinny doesn't make you more innerly attractive. You can still be a bitch.
Aquagirl
Maybe a bit too much info but oh well.

OMG! They were teasing you because you were a size 7? I'd give my left leg to be a size 7. Even if I gave my left leg, I wouldn't be a size 7, as I'm sure my right leg on its own is a size 10.

That's just wrong. Y'hear? Wrong.

With all that said about being happy with whatever size you are and all that, Duncan is dating a nice looking supposed Singapore model as someone on another post thought. So, I guess he wouldnt turn away a slim model.

i think the key is to surround yourself with people who value getting to know a person and not "stopping" at the front door. i will have to take this opportunity to praise my husband with this one. when we first met i was 16 and a size 6. i will be the first to say i had a tight little body. and then when we hooked up years and years later, i was a size 10; it didn't matter. he totally feel in love with me despite my 40lb difference, and he continues to love me no matter what i look like or what the scale may say. although, he has some friends that are very much into 'looks' and have made numerous comments about me to him and he's just like whatever, she's beautiful. and i honestly believe more people are starting to get it . . . a total stranger at a store told me the other day 'what a looker' i was. so NOT EVERYONE is looking for a size zero. and i think women like jennifer lopez and kim catrell and drew barrymore and helping to 'crack' the mold.

If you scan it, I'd love to read the article! I did find a small picture on their website, but no article.
Here is the picture though... http://www.gracestyle.com/home/story_1.php?clearlogin=1
I'm not complaining...the picture is VERY good.

Hey WT
I want to describe my perfect dated with Duncan. We would sit at a quiet cottage with a rumbling fire and hot tea listening to the Dave Matthews Band's earlier stuff and just let the powers of the night lead us to whatever romance or friendship there would be. AAhhhh. Any one else wanna give it a try?
