Just curious, as I am doing some recording of my own these days... What type of equipment and programs do you use to record your renditions of duncan songs.

I have my trusty Ibanez Acoustic/Electric, an el-cheapo radio shack microphone, and use Cool Edit 2000 + Studio Plug-in. Gotta love the 1/4" plug on the soundblaster

I have a few pedals I use as well, such as a Boss chorus box, and a Boss delay/reverb pedal, but find that they come across very trebly. Need more bass, and not sure if that is just because they are cheaper pedals. Sorry... Not rich yet

Also, anyone used the e-bow on acoustic/electric guitars?

I use an SM57 Microphone and a Zoom 909 guitar processor for external gear---

for my PC hardware I use the Sound Blaster Audigy Platinum because it has both native DirectX and AISO compatability.

For software...I really dig Cubase VST 5.1 and Cool Edit Pro 2.0 -- the plugins for each are great---Cubase is definately more powerful...but its comparatively cumbersome.

and that's my 2 cents

Im not into computer recording just yet...ive tried e-bow on acoustic before...its kinda tricky to get a cool sound...i think its semi useful if you use a looper...my gear consists of..
A zoom gfx-8
Boss loop station
e-bow
and like 4 different guitars...and yes i also started on a ibanez cheapo lol

Sure... email me the best way to get in touch, and I'll do that. Have 2 broken feet right now, so getting around is a little tough

The computer stuff i stay away from but as far me i run:

DL4-Line 6 Delay Modeler
MM4-Line 6 Modulation Modeler
TS9-Tube Screamer
Digitech Whammy Pedal
Ernie Ball Volume Pedal
TU2-Boss Tuner
Ebow

Thats usually what i use to replicate Gerry's playing on a lot of Duncan's songs.

How do the E-bows work with the acoustic - electric guitars? Do you need a specific type of pickup in the guitar for it to work?

Wow, I'm definitely not a gear-head. When I record Duncan covers I take the shitty microphone that came with my computer, cover it with a sock, and set it somewhere evenly between my mouth and the guitar's sound hole.
Sometimes I'll plug my guitar straight in to the Line In, but that usually sounds pretty bad. As for recording, I use Cakewalk Guitar Tracks 2. Not an extensive program, but it allows me to lay down 8 tracks, which is usually more than I need.
Well, that's it for me. I'm boring. Peace!

the ebow vibrates metal strings with electromagnetic pulses.....

it works on electric AND acoustic.

The Ebow is an awesome peice of equipment but you should definately read up on them first. They are ment for electric guitars/basses but i have seen people use them with acoustic's. You must be careful though, the first ebow's that were made sounded great but they were bad on your pickup's due to the magnetic frequency. Over the last couple years ebow came out with the ebow plus which cuts down on that magnetic current that damages your pickups. Keep in mind when usingone not to place it directly over your pickups because that is where the damage is done. Place it between your humbucker or single coils. Sorry, i am complete gearhead.
