wow, no sooner do i mention duncan's comments on the sartorial madness that is enrique iglesias, but, lo and behold, i flip through the new "vanity fair music issue" to see enrique crowned "the sheik"? what the...? yikes. and, naturally, he's flanked by two naked chicks.... who comes up with these things? this has got to be the weirdest one yet. so now i guess we have two. i guess.... <har!> happy gawking (just in time for halloween, no less!), IP: Logged |

hehe. I bet some of you will find this hilarious, but I'm going to see Enrique on Friday.  I won two tickets for impersonating him on the radio. I actually had people shocked to near heart attacks when they found out I was going to that concert. yeah.... there's also the implication of "harem owner," so, ok, maybe enrique would be the better choice here <grin>. if they were just going for "really handsome guy," why not just use the real one, you know? plus, and more to the point, i dunno, i rather stupidly assumed that the "music issue" would have actual musicians it it!! boy, is my face red. anyways, the same thing happed over at "rolling stone." from what i can gather, the "women in rock" issue is a complete and utter joke--way too much "style" over substance. and it's a damn shame because by this time, it's not like you have to talk about the same people over and over again--there's an abundance of top female talent in music. like, they didn't mention ani difranco or kristen hersh. this makes no sense.... or if they did mention someone cool, they cited their weakest album, not the one that rocked everyone. hmmmmm. depressorama! pop culture on the skids.... dp IP: Logged |
