Hey guys,

Someone probably already mentioned it which will make this string annoying but in case some people don't know, Daylight is reviewed in People magazine this week (the one with Britney Spears on the cover) so if you like to collect/see those things, check it out. It is a positive review too which is always a rad thing to see. -Rabs

That review manages to be insulting and positive at the same time. "In need of resuscitation" - sheesh.

I don't think the statement, "in desparate need of resuscitation," was intended as an insult. Within the article's context, the author was trying to be slick in describing Duncan's post-"Barely Breathing" music, which up to this point has not produced a hit song and has yielded poor album sales. By that standard, the author's statement isn't an insult. Its the truth.

However, the author fails to mention the critical approval Duncan's albums have garnered. The author, instead, only seems to be examining Duncan's career from a commercial standpoint, which doesn't tell the entire story as far as I'm concerned. What can you do, considering that the author wasn't given much space to write a proper review to begin with. I will say, though, that the author would've been better served to describe Duncan's post-"Barely Breathing" career as a string of "critically acclaimed, albeit commercially unsuccessful, albums."

Yet, as it is with reviewers, they're just people with opinions, just like you and I. I'm growing to learn how to take reviews with a grain of salt, although I must say that I agree with what this critic had to say about "Daylight" because its positive.

Richard
