Most of the links dont work yet. I promised I would have the framework up by tonight. The server I was using was just TOO SLOW so I am looking elsewhere. Within the next 10days duncansheik.org will be launched in full force. Until then, I am just hosting the framework for you donuts to take advantage of video and tablature that hasnt ever been online before.

Keep in mind, the current site is VERY slow. The full fledged version will be fast enough to stream any video and download at 30KB/sec on broadband connections.

56k users wont notice the *slow* speed right now...its not THAT slow

The links that WORK right now are
VIDEO, TAB, and NEWS

everything else is coming. I would love to get links to any of duncan covers YOU have performed/recorded, tab, Duncan Stories, Pictures, and if you guys want I would be MORE than happy to include little FAN profiles.

bringing it to ya
-Tim

Wow,so far your site looks fantastic!!! I especially love the fact that you have some piano sheet music up on the site,as I have been wanting to learn how to play his stuff but could never get any sheet music except Barely Breathing...Do you have piano sheet music for anything off Humming? I'd love to learn In Between or Foreshadowing Anyways, I'm really looking forward to seeing the finished product!!!

I only have the sheet music for the entire self-titled album. I dont have much for humming. There is sheet music for Longing town up there. Thanks to some board members...there is guitar tab for quite a few more songs on the way

If anybody has a line on some humming music I would LOVE to host some.

Its the design of the custom graphics on each page that is making it all worth it
I like putzing with pictures. Thx for the compliment

Okay...so the DANGEROUS part of the site is up now. THE AUDIO section works. I have MOST of the RARE audio files up there now. Undoubtedly there will probably be something you dont already have up there. The site is still on my slow home server.....but you can grab files if ya like

Tim: You've done a wonderful job with your website. If you want to listen, I have a few suggestions, some of which you probably may be working on right now.

I can search around on the internet for reviews of Duncan's CDs and e-mail them to you. That way, you can add a "Reviews" section to the website. You can also have polls, where people can vote on various questions as "What is the best song from 'Daylight'?" or "What is your favorite Duncan CD?" Finally, you can hold contests where winners can win prizes, like an autographed ticket stub or something Duncan related.

Anyway, there are just a few suggestions I thought I would share with you. Feel free to say, "Richard, you are an idiot! Those are bad ideas."

Richard-

Those are great ideas. I am actually working on a comments script (was last night til about 5am) so I can have instant visitor feedback on news stories and such. The idea for song voting and stuff hadnt occured to me and once I get onto a server where I can actually test out scripts that will definately be something I will do.

About the reviews and stuff---Im on that The links page (which I havent put up yet) features links to all sorts of stories and reviews and interviews that I can find online. Many of the fansites that are out there make reference to articles that no longer exist or have been moved. When the links page is up.....and you notice that you have some things that arent on the page---I would love to post the URLs.

Thanks so much for the feedback. This site is by fans for fans so having fans chime in with ideas or even files/stories is what its all about.

Tim: You could also encourage fans to write album reviews for "Daylight," "Phantom Moon," "Humming," and "Duncan Sheik." Moreover, fans can also write original articles on Duncan or any other musical topic if they choose. Original articles by fans would add a unique dimension to your website, a dimension that you can't find on a lot of fansites.

With the original articles, you can then bring everybody back to this message board to debate the merits, or lack thereof, of the different articles. This, in turn, would continue to breath new life on the message boards, if everything goes well...easier said than done. Hope everything is going well with the website, you deserve to take a vacation when all your work is completed.

Hiya All.
had a few questions about the fan stuff.
I have two things that i can not scan (dont have a scanner). I wrote a review of the album and concert for my law school newspaper...and i have a foto of me and duncan from last year.
Can I send copies to someone's mailing address?
Thanks!

I love your ideas. I will incorporate them into the FANS section.

If you have ANYTHING to send in that you would like on the website you can mail them to

Tim Oleston

La Crosse, WI 54601

I will scan in pictures also convert your printed paper for school into an HTML document and put it online. Everything Duncan related will be included. Thanks so much!
