With the release of "Daylight" only a few weeks away, I thought I would bring back the MB List. People who frequent the "Non-Duncan Discussion" forum know all about the MB List, and they helped make the first three MB Lists some of the hottest threads to appear on the message board this summer. For the past couple of weeks, the MB List has been on hiatus, but with the release of "Daylight" looming, the MB List has returned. Six years has passed since Duncan released his self titled debut in June 1996, which produced the hit single "Barely Breathing." Since then, Duncan has released two more full length CDs and an EP of cover songs. His music has also been placed on soundtracks, while his face has graced magazine lay-outs. Overall, Duncan's talent and shy, unassuming demeanor has created a solid, faithful following that spans across the globe. This list wants you to look back over the past six years and think about what Duncan has done creatively. In six years, Duncan has done quite a bit, from writing and performing his own material to writing music for theater and producing other artists. Now, after thinking back over the past six years, please list three to five things that have defined Duncan's career to this point. For the people who are unfamiliar with the MB List, I will list some guidelines so everyone can be on the same page. 1) Everyone who wants to participate needs to submit an individual list or three to five choices that denotes defining moments in Duncan's career. Please, let's try not to repeat the choices of others. 2) There will be a deadline with which people can submit their individual choices. That deadline will be posted below. Once the deadline has passed, I will post a list of choices that people can vote from. Voting begins as soon as the deadline for individual lists ends and a final list has been posted. 3) Once a final list has been posted, everyone can vote, even those people who didn't submit an individual list. Everyone can e-mail their votes for me. To give everyone an example of how voting works, if the final list has forty-five choices, I will ask that your vote include no more than fifteen choices. Everybody has three "anti-votes" at their disposal when voting. If there is something on the final list that someone feels should not be on there, that individual can use an "anti-vote," which usually is counted as a negative vote when everything is said and done. Overall, in this example, everyone can pick fifteen choices and use three "anti-votes." (Special Note: Regular votes usually depend on the number of choices presented in the final list. If, for example, the final list only had twenty choices, voters would have to choose no more than ten selections. However, in previous MB List, the final lists have had numerous choices, and the magic number has always been fifteen. "Anti-votes" have always remained at three, regardless of the number of choices on the final list). 4) There will be a deadline for voting, and once that deadline has passed, I will tabulate the votes and post the results here. While the voting is taking place, people can feel free to respectfully debate over the choices, campaigning for certain choices in hopes of scoring a couple of votes. As long as its done with civility, its all good. Okay, now to reiterate the list topic: What are some of the defining moments in Duncan's career to this point? (Hint: "Daylight" shouldn't be included) The deadline for individual lists is midnight (EST) on Tuesday August 6th, 2002. If anyone needs to know about a time conversion for where they live, feel free to e-mail me and ask. If anyone has any questions regarding the list, don't hesitate to ask! Have Fun!
