I don't know about you guys, but I was really hoping that Matt would be on this albumn. I guess he's busy playing with John Mayer(who is another great artist by the way). I got to meet Matt on several occasions and found him to be a very down to earth and very humble person. I personally hope that he will be going out on tour with Duncan for this albumn. I hope that he and Duncan didn't have any disagreements or anything. I don't know! What do you guys think?

I personally don't think Matt had any disagreements with Duncan. Instead, I think Matt has been busy performing with John Mayer. Duncan began recording for "Daylight" back in April, while John Mayer was touring. So, I think this is an instance of Matt taking care of prior committments.

I agree with Rich on this one. It doesn't bother me too much though.

I could write plenty, but suffice to say that I'm not affected in the least by his exclusion.

For the record, I love Jeff Buckley, and I love the Chicago DVD...but that's also where my disdain for Matt stems

How come you have disdain for Matt Johnson, Joe?

well, mainly b/c he looks so damn drugged out and disinterested while playing the most humanly simple drum beats during the two bonus videos for So Real and Last Goodbye...it just aggravates me. lol. IMO, he's Nothing Special.

Maybe that's why he looks so disinterested: he's just playing simple drum beats. Some drummers want to do intricate drum fills or something simply spectacular on stage, as opposed to just holding a simple beat. Oh well, its neither here nor there.

Maybe if Matt tours with Duncan, you can go hang out with him backstage after the show. I bet you two will have a lot to talk about.

yeah, thats definitely true...i just wish he would have looked "into" the music...he looks "on a high".

And no, I don't think we'll chill backstage

Hey, we happen to think that Matt is a great drummer, but some of Duncan's tunes just seemed rather simple for Matt to play. I have thought that is true - that Matt's playing shined through with Jeff Buckley as well. We miss him.

When I saw John Mayer in March...at the House of Blues in Chicago......Zir d. was drumming for him (Zir also recorded the Room For Squares CD drums)

Matt wasnt around ...and that was springtime. I did notice that when Mayer and crew were in London Steven Chopek (sp) was playing drums for them.

I am a HUGE fan of both artists. I have 2 guitars...both autographed.
Acoustic: Duncan Sheik
Electric: John Mayer

Anyhow-----I had no clue that Matt Johnson was drumming for Mayer but that news you brought just made my day. To make this post even less approrpirate---Mayer is in people magazine photos this week holding hands and walking with Jennifer Love Hewett. There is at least ONE good musician in that relationship.

This is just about the coolest connection news I have heard this year. You guys rule!

Hey Guys,

My girlfriend Denise just pointed out to me a couple of nights ago that Matt Johnson is playing drums for Beth Orton on her new CD, "DayBreaker." (On the new hit song "Concrete Sky" ) That's totally cool. We miss him. Glad to see he is busy and around these parts.
