I don't know about you guys, but I thought tonight's show was absolutely hilarious!!

I love how Duncan is so honest, but always says what he thinks in the nicest way possible... Too funny...
... great song choices too!!

The bands weren't too great tonight, but definitely entertaining

Yeh..I thought it was cool too! Duncan Was really cute and when he had to give a bad score he kinda blushed...but he was very honest. I thought the bands weren't great either. Maybe it will be much better next week when he is on agian! :~)

You mean that the show that is airing on the 14th is not a repeat? Cool!!

I thought that Duncan was very cute and looked like he was having fun. He knows so much about music that he is the perfect judge!

Cover Wars kicked major ass tonight. The bands totally sucked but that was the best part!!! It made it more entertaining. Some of Duncan's facial expressions were so hilarious Looked like he was thinking, "What the hell is this??" LOL!!! I have to agree that the raw honesty he displayed was quite impressive. How cool was that?? Most artists would have tried to been nice and lie about the bands being good. I loved how he just told it like it was. That's the best way to be in my opinion And how about that "Sexual Healing" request. That was priceless. And I caught it on tape

A Happy Donut,
Sam

You must make me 1 copy.

That was pretty cool. So many new expressions and so much honesty. I'm glad to see Duncan at peace.

And he is so beautiful.

It's so cute how everyone's waving their arms in the air screaming and he's just sitting and smiling. Awee!

I have to disagree with everyone. {Sorry guys } I thought Cover Wars was a less than stellar show. The cover bands were extremely unimpressive. And they lacked individual style. (Especially the lead singer who looked like a carbon copy of Gwen Stefani about 5 years ago...How original!)

Just thought I would toss in a differing opinion.

(Don't shun me guys!)

Puggy Power to all.

pug - that's what i thought about that blond thingie. doesn't it figure that the worst band won? i liked uuu myself. but, i wasn't a judge. duncan was so cute. i laughed throughout the whole thing. was izabelle whatever a little touchy feely? of course, i'd cop a feel when i could if i was in her shoes.

Everyone wants to put their arms around Duncan. When he was on the Weekend Today show, the female co-anchor had her arm around him for most of the interview!

Duncan is a pretty good sport, and I bet he is used to it. He has to get a lot of hugs!!

I guess I didn't really notice the touchy-feely bit, but I was a little shocked when Duncan asked them to play "sexual healing" and she said that Duncan needed it. Did anyone else catch that??

*lol* I saw it yesterday finally (yay for doing nothing at my mom's house in the middle of the country!) and I was so excited I was practically jumping up and down. My GOD, I was bored, and it was unexpected to see Duncan on my tv... Anywho. I think that the band that got voted out first was the best band. Yeah, their song that they had to do to 3 different styles basically sucked ass, but they seemed to have the most talent for actually doing covers. I couldn't believe the songs that Duncan picked out. I laughed so hard I almost fell off the couch. But maybe I was a little TOO excited for something to actually be happening out here in the middle of nowhere...

Anywho, Duncan looked adorable as always (doesn't he have ugly days??) and the show basically sucked a lot of ass (whose idea was it to give Paul his own show??), but hey, it made my day... Anyone record it?

Yeah, the bands were pretty lame. I could see Duncan's ears screaming "ouch!" He was obviously musically more intelligent than the other judges - but he was a good sport and ya gotta love that satirical humor...

I was so stoked, that was the funniest thing! I felt Duncan's pain, I'm proud of the way he handled the crap that he had to judge. He was gracious yet he had a subtle way of telling them that they sucked. Very Duncan-like. Hehe great show last night. Hey! When's the next one?

Duncan's song choices were very funny. The styles that he had them do the songs in were metal and reggae. I think the song was "I'm too sexy"

I thought Short Bus was alright, I thought Mr. Sheik was great, and I didn't like that band with the girl singer who didn't know any of the songs. It was a good episode, but the guys in the band last week were great. The ones with the funny hats The Zah Zahs, I think they were called. Oh! They killed me. I loved it! This is such a fun show, but I wish that Sky Nellor would disappear. She bugs me worse than a tick. Yeah, that was funny about the "Sexual Healling" thing. I think someone has the hots for our favorite guy.....Miss Izabelle, please keep your hands to yourself (can you tell I worked in a day care with kids? I must have said that thirty times an hour when I was working... ) Anyway, it's a fun show. I like it a lot. Paul Shaffer rocks. David Letterman doesn't.

I finally watched the show. So here we go.

First Impression:
Jesus Christ could the audience stop jumping around for one second, i cant hear the directions. there might be a quiz at the end of the show and i have to be prepared.

Paul was stupid. they should not let him host this show. he isnt at all groovy or cool. let that chick with the british accent take care of everything. i think she can handle paul's job. people would rather see her than paul anyway.

Nile Rodgers wasnt as annoying as i thought. it looked like duncan and he got along. But the coyote ugly girl was, er...pointless. she knows nothing about music. why was she there? Duncan looked very cheeky. I was gonna strangle my tv if paul said "Ladies Choice" one more time. id have him know that there are quite a few men who choose him too.

the bands were as well to be expected. i hated the last band. im glad there were kicked off first. the blond curls annoyed me. the first two were pretty good. i didnt really care who won. i was exausted from all the fake happiness and hyperness. when do we get to see boy band cover bands do limp bizkit covers? that should be entertaining.

the sexual healing comment. very funny. ive noticed duncan does this eyebrow "hey baby" thing.

i dont think duncan minds being touched by attractive women at all. he didnt flinch or give the "back off bitch" vibe.

so all in all, the show sucked. i will never watch it again.

Yeah,

Finally saw Cover Wars, and kind of wondered at the end why I sat through the whole thing.
The bands did try, but most of it was kind of annoying. Especially that part where Nile gave that band a high score because of that blond chick's skintight, sequined, cropped top. Um, wasn't this about music and covers and stuff? Did I miss the rule that said people could suck and not know the words but would still do okay if they had a bottle of peroxide and some well-exposed cleavage? Hello??
Felt kind of sorry for the Duncster listening to that stuff, but he probably knew what he was in for before he agreed to it. At least they really danced on the stage a lot. That was cool in its own way. Sort of. Probably won't be checking this show out again anytime soon. Oh well. Peace,

Bodhi

p.s. I thought "Coyote Ugly" girl was kind of vapid and silly, but basically harmless.

p.s.s. Am I the only one who remembers the words to "Don't Worry Be Happy"? That song was played every hour-on-the-hour back in the 80s. And did anyone but me notice that all Duncan's choices were from the illustrious 80s? Nice theme there buddy!

I think duncan had a choice of the songs he popped on the bands. they had to have all the graphics worked out behind the bands on those little monitors. so i dont think they were picked out of the blue. he was probably given a list and chose the most obscure.

i think he lost a bet and had to do the show. or he owed someone a favor. what torture. and i wasnt even there.

on an unrelated note, doesnt it go pps instead of pss. post post script instad of post silly script. bc what would psss mean? and doesnt that make you think of leaky tires. whereas ppps is far more attractive.

Hey Springroz,

I would go with the "lost a bet" theory pretty easily. And I'm sure you are right about the list. But it was a perfect combo, even if it was chosen from a prearranged list of choices: Marvin Gaye, Bobby McFerrin, and Pat Benatar. I mean, I wanted to get out my acid-washed jean jacket, my friendship bracelets, and my old Reeboks and sing along at the top of my voice. Just kidding about the singing along thing. But still, too funny on the choices!

I think you're right about Paul too. There is a reason he never did anything besides Letterman, and we just witnessed it tonight. Seems like a nice guy, but this new hosting gig really sucks, just like the show. Peace out,
Bodhi

*lol* Spring. I know a lot of men who would more than go for Duncan... But that's not the point. *hehe*

I constantly do that eyebrow thing, and I know a chick who I can't even talk to, because every time I do it, she breaks into hysterics. I don't even realize when I'm doing it, it's just a subconscious thing, but her incessant giggling and screeching and pointing just drives me up the wall... *hehe*

I think Duncan would just risk being drooled on...

Springroz,

Yes, the p.s.s. thing is weird, but it's a signature thing for me because it's like a small aside. You know, like when you go "pssst", in order to whisper in someone's ear. I do it with e-mails to friends all the time, and didn't even realize I did it here too! I love the idea of a tire sound though. It made me chuckle. Now I don't think I'll edit it. I kind of like that little hissing sound. HeHe.
