My kids and I got a puppy last summer, and after kicking several names around, we decided on Duncan. It was my suggestion, and we kept coming back to it. He is a Springer Spaniel/Beagle mix, mostly black with a few white and brown markings, the floppy curly-haired ears of a spaniel. He is medium-sized, about 30-35 pounds. Like Rochelle (see "too old to be a groupie" topic), I am definitely not a Duncan groupie, but I do consider myself a loyal fan. The cool part about having a dog named Duncan is when people ask me where I got the name, I can tell them about my favorite musician.

Guess I'm spreading the word, Duncan, but like I have seen written on the message board, I kind of hope you don't get TOO big. I really enjoyed seeing you up close and personal when you were here in Rochester, NY in April. It was a great show.

Anyone else name a pet Duncan or Sheik or anything from Duncan's songs? Just wondering!

*lol* Oh my, now is the time to look foolish... I raise fancy guppies. I got a pastel double swordtail guppy (a very rare fish here in the US) along with two deltatail guppies a couple months ago. After some debate, the deltas were named Aristotle and Socrates. The double sword (being different, rare, and beautiful), was named Duncan.

Thanks, now I'm part of the psycho population! *lol*

Wow, dedicated people! I don't know if I'd name my pet Duncan, but I love the name! If I have a son that's definatly a possibility! Not just 'cause of Mr. Sheik, but I absolutly love the name. My top 3 guys names are Duncan, Heath, and umm...???! It's a long time away to think about this stuff, kids and all, but I can start dreaming! OK, I'm getting way of your subject. Sorry.
Peace

I haven't named a pet after Duncan, but next year when I'm off to college I'm getting a dog and I know I am definately going to name it Scottie! I would go with Scott but I think Scottie sounds better for a dog. I like Erika's idea for her kid's, and while we're throwing names out, how about Simeon and Marion? Lol, bye!

I do not want kids, so no baby names, but I do love the name Simeon, actually I had a waiter one day and that was his name, and he was really attractive and sort of reminded me of what Duncan may have looked like when he was younger, not to say Duncan is like an old man now, I mean like 17 (oh yeah I felt like a pedophile staring at this cutie-pie) I decided on the most perfect doggy names, although my baby is named Max, he is a yellow lab, and the most handsomest dog in the world, oh yeah he is spoiled. But I want a black lab and his name would be Lear and a yellow lab that would be named Cordelia.

Ok, I plan to get fishies for college this fall since I can't bring my toad (Crumudgeon), or my cats (Shushi and Sasha). I'll see what they look like and decide from there, but I'd been thinking of Duncan themed-typed names. Like Alibi or Serena, maybe SRA (she runs away). Maybe even Duncan or Sheik. And I'll see what my roommate thinks too.

I've got a Chinchilla named Chilli (not my 1st choice for a name, my little sis named her). We had a snake that we named Captain Hook, but it turned out to be a girl so it's name changed to Captain Hooker...But we do have a golden hamster that's due for a name....maybe Duncan...

SRA? *hehe* That's what I sign my notes as in OpenDiary. Every single animal I've ever owned (including fish) have had names. They've been named after everything from Heather Nova to Shannon Hoon...

PS: Naming a dog She Runs Away is kind of tempting fate, don't you think? *lol* My one suggestion if you decide to go with the name: Microchip and nametag!

Ha, I hadn't thought about that, but I just liked the name SRA. hehe. That's funny. I can't believe I missed that...Another name I was thinking was Beowulf, but I have a while before I can think about getting animals other than fish....Stupid dorm rules....

I have never named a pet after Duncan, but I think that Duncan is one of the coolest names on Earth. I have two dogs named Moose and Goliath and two cats named Oreo and Xena. My brother has a lizard named Devil.

I am looking forward to having five cats named Duncan!

Well, as of present, I have no pets, my last kitty, who ran away when I lived in LA, and probably was beat up by gang cats...her name was Mazzy....for Mazzy Star....anyone a fan??

When we found out I was pregnant, Serena was one of my top choices, not because of the song...just because I think it is such a beautiful name....serene....what an adjective....anyway..........My husband said
no way....and I think his reason was because the song.......she does not sound too nice!!

We considered Duncan for a boy, but we both love the name D'artagnan...I know, I know believe me my mom almost had a stroke....so finally we decided on Evan D'artagnan....we really believed it would be a boy!!!

When our daughter was born we were not prepared, and then we found it...........
Kira Soleil.....my sunshine baby girl....
I am still working on Serena if we have another girl!!!!!

Probably too much info....sorry, I guess I am just bored!!!

Peace to you all!!!
