still "barely breathing". i saw its video only twice and i'm so disappointed with mtv for not playing it as much as those of pop stars. nway, other songs i liked there are "she runs away", "serena", "in the absence of sun" and "little hands".

I agree that 'Serena' is great, but I think that 'Home' is the best song on the album handsdown. No song is better able to capture that feeling of such deep love for someone so that you feel it in your very core.
Oh, I can't leave out 'Reasons for Living' either. That was the first song that made me cry and a song I will always remember.

Anyway, thats my take,
-Calvin

Out of Order, She Runs Away, Home, and Barely Breathing..too hard to pick just one.

1. Serena
2. Little Hands
3. November
4. She Runs Away
5. Barely Breathing

In that order. I especially love Little Hands. I listen to that one on repeat all the time.

My fave is :

(ducks for fear of flying objects due to response)

"Barely Breathing".

It's just too catchy not to listen to it 3x's each time I get to track 3>

"Home" is one of the greatest songs ever written. I have very personal reasons for why this song is the best, but I think that everyone should hear this song. "She Runs Away" and "Reasons For Living" were also very good.

"Reasons For Living", "Home", and "Days Go By" - all three for different reasons, probably with "Home" being my number 1!

"Days Go By" was my cat's favorite song. I know that may sound silly, but I swear it's true. He was my very best friend and of all the cd's we listened to together, Duncan's self-titled was his favorite. He also really liked "November", but "Days Go By" was his favorite. I first heard Duncan on the radio when "Barely Breathing" was huge, the summer before I started high school. I fell in love with the song and bought the cd. It became the soundtrack to my life, and I know it was Kahlua's favorite also. My Kua died two weeks after I graduated high school and I played "Days Go By" at his funeral. That will always be our song. And although before that my favorite song on the cd was "Home," my favorite now will always be "Days Go By" because I loved my cat more than anything. And you can make fun of me all you want for knowing my cat loved Duncan, but I know it. He and I had a spiritual bond and Duncan was so much a part of it. I will always miss my Kahlua--he was the best friend I ever had. And whenever I listen to our song I will remember what marvelous taste my cat had in music, and how much he meant to me. The time I spent with him were "the most precious of all my days. . . "

If let me choose one color to describe "Duncan Sheik",I think I'll choose "blue",blue just like Duncan' deep blue T-shirt on the cover.I must confess every song is beautiful, but the most unforgettable three songs are November,Home & Little hands.Accompanying with orchestra stings,Duncan sung "...the past we seek some certainty...the month we call...November¡°£¬I can feel his endless sorrow!! "There'll be sad songs to make U cry",so "Home" is the song--" & then I'm with U no longer alone when I'm with U it feels like I'm home".It moved me so much!! when U're hearing "Little hands",U can imagnine every episode, just like U're seeing the saddest lovestory!!! I guess Duncan must be very emotional, sentimental person.

My favorite are She Runs Away, Barely Breathing, and Reasons for Living. I would rather listen to his music all day and night rather than listening to the radio and hearing them repeating songs over and over again. I haven't bought "Daylight" either but I want to real soon!

I listen to the first 5 tracks over and over. My brain now hears them as one continuous peice.

I'm gonna have to say, though, that Barely Breathing still does it for me. It is officially my favorite song ever. It sooths my spirit and calms my soul. It takes me to a very peaceful place in a way that no other music has.

Hi everyone! I'm new to the board. My name is Nick DeMarco. I'm from Scranton, PA, I'm 21 and hey, macaroni and cheese is pretty good. Can't be on a message board and not mention that. Anyways, onto things much more important. I agree with a lot of the choices you all made. "Barely Breathing" is absolutely awesome, and it should be played more. The video will always stay in my mind. I remember buying that on cassette(I was too poor to buy the cd) and listening to it over and over again. I also liked "In The Absence Of The Sun" and "She Runs Away" but my all time favorite, just because somehow I feel it is related to me and my life right now the most(as it was when I first heard it) is "End Of Outside". I hate it up here at college when I play Duncan's music and people come to my room and go "That's great music, but who is that?" I tell them who and they go "Never heard of him." I'll then explain "Don't you remember the song "Barely Breathing"? They'll say "Oh yeah, I remember that song." Weird. I can't find Humming anywhere around my area. I'll have to send away for it. Gotta pick up Daylight this weekend as well. Well that's it for my rambling. Go Duncan!

Off this album, it's a tossup between "Home" and "November." "Home" because the first time I heard it, it just utterly described my current relationship; and "November" because of the fragile, Buckleyesque vocal over that Sylvian-y/Drake-y arrangement. Gorgeous. In fact, I'm playing it right now. Oh, and BTW, the first place I heard of DS was on the David Sylvian mailing list, FWIW.
