While I'm in the griping mood, I'd like to know - does anyone ever actually get a personal reply? I mean, I read all thess messages saying "Duncan, maybe if I act like we're really best friends in some other lifetime, will you email me personally?" Does this tactic really work? I've been wary to try it because, well I'm an Evergreen student and don't live in the real world, but if it's a surefire way to someone famous to talk with me, I wanna know!

- Maybe Less Caffeine?

Hah! I had to laugh.. I wouldn't expect any personal answers.. I don't at least. It seems like we might have a better chance of being struck by lighting. That's a v. funny post. If I thought I'd get a personal answer though, I'd want to know which comes first, the lyrics or the melody. Sort of reminds me of the chicken or the egg questions. I'm not a songwriter or anything.. but I write a lot of stuff down and if I could play something, I wonder if I could come up with some kind of accompanying music. Oh well, I digress.

Definitely less caffeine...

I don't really hope for a reply. I don't intend on getting one. I am a writer though, and when something says "hey you should make this one a letter or a note" I'm not gonna deny it. (muses be so fickle…) So that's why I write letters. It's not always- just a few times where I feel there needs to be explanation or honesty. Those are the BIG ones for me. And sometimes I send them, but usually they rot in a journal or on some scratch piece, fading and wishing they had more purpose. So there you have my answer.

And if I had one Q: What was the final decision that guided you to become Buddhist?
