I have been listening to Daylight for quite awhile now and I love every song except only one is OK and that is "Start Again". I know Duncan didn't write it but Gary, but I don't buy the lyrics at all. Whenever I listen to it, I always think, "yeah, right, I'm sure you'll run away if you can clear the way. And I just found Jimmy Hoffa's body". Musically its a good song but the lyrics don't sit well. Just not believable to me. To Duncan's defense, it is not his song but someone elses. Probably a token song he did for his buddy to help Gary's career or something. Anyway, Daylight is awesome and my favorite song is Good Morning!

Gerry wrote the song.

Yeah, I know Gerry wrote it, as I said above, but the song never "hit" me because the first few times I heard it, Duncan didn't "convince" with the way he sang it. Its not Duncan's fault if he can't get into somebody elses song when he sings it. Duncan sang Karma Police by Radiohead convincingly and River Man by Nick Drake convincingly but he doesn't sound convincing in Start Again. Like I said, probably a token song for Gerry. As one writer put it, "No tears when you write it, no tears when they read it." Since Duncan didn't write it, I don't believe it.

Ben check your first post you said Gary not Gerry. I know who you meant but I just had to point it out. Sorry hope I didn't upset you.

I've been listening to "Start Again" a lot now because of all the critique it's getting. I happen to like it a lot. The constant rhymes get a little irksome but other than that, I really like the story and Duncan does a great job singing it, I think.
