Since I just read the "Favorite Song on Daylight Thread" I thought I'd try the opposite. What songs do you just not like?

Magazines has to be my least favorite.

HeRunsAway,
I think that is such a beautiful line and especially with all of the power and expression in D's pleading voice. (My .02 cents)

Yeah, I have to admit I feel the same, I like the song in general but "Come on, lets fall in love..." is a little bit cheesy and not classic Duncan. Oh well, everyone's got a mushy side I guess.

I really don't like "On Her Mind." I have to skip that track everytime I listed to Daylight. Something about that opening line, "she's wearing the t-shirt" is just really unattractive to me.

On another note, I'm shocked a Duncan fan could not like "Half-Life," it's my fav. song off the new album.

I especially feel the emotion in the last verse, maybe 'cause thats how I sometimes feel.
"Cause lately, something here don't feel right,
this is just a half-life.
Without you I am breaking down.
Oh wake me, I wanna see the daylight,
save me from this half-life"

"Half-Life" is my least favorite. I don't know why, but I just never really liked it.

Will I get shot saying this? I really don't like On A High too much. When playing the CD through I instinctively slam to the next track. It just gives me an icky feeling.

You may think that line in Half Life is "cheesy", (I don't & happen to love the tune) but I think you're leaving out an important part. It's "come on let's fall in love.......again". I think that makes a big difference, for me anyway. (just my 2 cents!)

I personally do not like On Her Mind. I have tried to listen to it multtiple times, but I can never get into it. And how could anybody be a Duncan fan and not like Half-Life? I mean, of course you are entitled to your own opinions/likes/dislikes, but that song is truly Duncan and I think it suits the album and his style quite well.

"for you" hurts me. I can't listen to it.

I really don't like Chimera. I listen to it, but I tend to tune it out... I love Half-life, and I fell instantly for On her Mind.

I loved all the songs on the Daylight album initially, but after listening to it nonstop - however, now I think that while they are all good, Memento is the least favorite.

I love all the songs on that album, but if I had to pick a least favorite one it would have to be "good morning".

All 12 songs are each in their own a joy to listen to..Can't really say that I dislike any of his songs..They all have some meaning to me in one way or another.

This topic is easier to deal with than the "most favorite song" one. It's so hard to pick my most favorite.

I can see why some would not like "Memento" because it's a little sleepy compared to other songs on the album. But for me, the lyrics and musical instruments make up for the dormant feel it has. I have found that there are some songs that are better to just sit back and listen to instead of sing to. "Memento" is like that for me.

I can see why some would not like "On Her Mind" because the lyrics seem very ordinary. I would almost agree that it is one that I like the least, but Duncan saved me from making that decision when the chorus came in "On Her Mind." The best parts of it, in my opinion, are...

"I want peace but I don't make it...
I want love but I don't give it...
I want hope but I can't find it...."

So even though I don't care for the general idea of "On Her Mind," I pretty much like it musically.

Personally, I really like "Magazines" for the story it tells, "Good Morning" for how it conveys harsh reality, and "Half-Life" because of, well, everything about it! Although I could do without the "la la la" part of "Good Morning;" it feels a little obnoxious and out of place.

So what is my least favorite song...
[all who read this are now on the edge of their seats ]
I have to say it's "For You." It makes me want to go to sleep. It seems like Duncan got all the musical arrangements mastered on it, but the lyrics seem like they were written for the sake of having lyrics written for a musical arrangement. In short, it seems to shmaltzy and too ordinary. I guess the only one I completely agree with here is Afool4anotherday.

Then again, it's only my opinion...

I have to agree. Although "For You" is a masterpeice musically, I find the lyrics to be less than I had hoped for. The first verse was so sweet and the second one was just such a let down. For me, anyway.

I personally love all of his songs, but well, I think "For you" is a sweet song, but has a shitty ending "so all I can do is sing this song".... Also I think that Such Reveries" is a great song, but the ending sucks too, "don't listen too me, it's my imagingation, I dont even know you, it never happned, just dreams in slow motion, it never happened, all that I told you it never happened, ever"... ok, then why write the song?? Also, in "Magazines", love it, but he sang a song anout a girl in magazines, and then at the end, "it never was you in magazines". I think his music sounds great, but his lyrics are kinda weak. Usually his lytrics are amazing like "how can you hold a soul, you cannot hold a soul that shines like gold, she shines like gold", that is beautiful! Anyway, sorry there were so many things to nit pick about... I really do love Duncan's work
