Just wondered if anyone else has a fascination with "Far Away" from Phantom Moon ???? I cannot seem to stop listening to it over and over again. Duncan's voice just goes right through me. Thanks for lettin me ramble ----Karen IP: Logged |

I love Far Away. There's something so dreamy and magical about that song. It's like a lullaby to me. And I love the country feel of the song. I'm not a big fan of country music but Duncan can pull it off with such ease and grace that I've come to love the sound of that song. And I think there's something so sexy and beautiful about the lyric "Another soul within your sheets." It totally captivates me every time I listen to it. Cheers, IP: Logged |

Far Away is one of my most favorite songs from Phantom Moon. (I cannot just pick 1 though.... I have many) I love the entire piece. But I must say, every time I listen to "Far Away", I am launched further and further into Heaven. This is such an unbelievably beautiful song. Glad to see I am not the only one in love with this song, I have played it so much it is becoming an addiction. Although Duncan always has a very sexy voice, there is a certain something in this song makes me melt. Not that all the credit can go to Duncan, Steven's lyrics are beautiful. The lyrics display a truly deep sensitive nature that I will admit I rarely associate with men; I am not man bashing or trying to stereotype men, I am referring only to my personal experience. My favorite line is " Let the words within you, whisper to you how I miss you" how beautiful is that? IP: Logged |

hey- it took me awhile to realize this (becuz i never look at the lyric sheets), but he starts off with refering to "him", then, at the end, changes it to "me." when i finally noticed that, i was instantly obsessed with the song. i dont know why...i guess it sort of mystified me. i know, im soo stupid! oh, well, peace! erika IP: Logged |

I absolutely LOVE "Far Away"! I agree with the other posters about Duncan's voice on this song. While his voice is always captivating to me, there is something about the way he sings this song that just makes my heart melt! I love when he sings, "If some day you love me, if in truth some day you love me...far away, far away...let the words within you, whisper to you how I miss you..." I am just in love with this song. I can't help but wonder who/what he was thinking about as he recorded that song, because it's so emotion-filled and magical. I think "Far Away" is my favorite song of all time next to DMB "Grace is Gone." I just cannot get enough of it. I don't know what it is about that damn song. It is just...incredible. A song that everyone can relate to. I'm sure everyone out there has someone who is 'far away' and everyday, they pop up like a jack-in-the-box, reminding us that we are haunted by people, no matter how far they travel or 'wander.' and you know, blackwuzzy, justjenn, that verse you favor ("if someday you love me... let the words within you whisper to you how i miss you") was not only a late addition to "far away" (we decided to lengthen the song), but perhaps the final writing on the entire record. s IP: Logged |

To Steven and Duncan, Really enough cannot be said about this song. It is amongst my most favorite picks on Phantom Moon. (And Mouth On Fire) Far Away-- aside from the lyrics, if we truly listen to your voice Duncan, to your tones and melodies applied to this very special piece, we can hear your voice transport us into a heavenly realm. Everytime I listen to this musical and lyrical piece I am just awed at the beauty and elegance of the majesty illustrated and exhibited. It has to be one of the most beautiful songs ever written.
