The song "Far Away", which is one of my favorite songs, gave me inspiration to write a poem "Sweet Sad Sayonara" which is a dedication to my departing classmates at JAIMS, Honolulu, Hawaii.

I like the winds that blow. it's a great song.

"So we drove on toward death through the cooling twilight."
the great gatsby
one of my favorite sentences.

It is so very hard to pick just one.....I still say, but "Far Away" is pretty close as your going to get.

I just adore them all.

i would have to say one of my favorites on the albem is Mr. Chess. i lov that song.. the way Duncan writes songs makes my heart melt. so i suppose i should just say i lov the whole albem.. i totally appreciate his other albems but this one really hit home with me. its a beautiful done albem as far as, not only the lyrics go, but the music as well. ESPECIALLY his voice. his vocals really make his songs fer me. xox

hi everybody,i'm new. but my fave song would be far away. i think it's just so haunting and the yearning potrayed by duncan's voice is achingly beautiful. steven sater, you should be very proud of yourself. you manage what most people only dream of. you manage to describe feelings accurately using words. bravo!

Gack.

Either ... "The Winds That Blow" or "Mouth on Fire."

"Mr. Chess" is excellent, but those two are just amazing.

Honestly, I really like "Far Away." There's just something sweet and longing, and honest about it. I think "Sad Stephen's Song" is also wonderful- very haunting. The entire album is beautiful. I received it as a birthday gift and was playing it at a friend's apartment. He asked me who it was and begged me to buy him a copy.

A Mirror In The Heart, Sad Stephen's Song, and Lo and Behold, so far.

A very "visual" album - will we see a theatrical performance at some point?

I, like the rest of you, have altered between many favorites on this album. I just got it as a christmas present, but I already know all the words to all the songs and the notes and everything by heart. I really liked Mr. Sater's comments. It is great that he and Duncan are actually adding to this discussion forum. That's cool. I think if i was just absolutely forced to give my fav. (lol)(it's so hard!) i would have to say the Winds That Blow. I don't know why, but everytime I listen to the album, I'm drawn immediately to it. I really love Sad Stephen's Song because it is so lonely sounding, just the way I feel sometimes....Well, I have reasons for loving all of them, but I won't go on boring you all...lol. I guess that's it...

to all the fellas like me who love duncan,
im from the philippines!and i dont know if phantom moon was released here in our country.
i know that may sound pitiful for you.but its like the biggest dilemna ever since i started to support duncan and his music.
i just wonder if you folks wouldnt mind sending me some infos about duncans performances there in the states.
my country is kinda far from your place. my country's in south east asia.
i hope that you would do a great act of generosity towards another duncan supporter!
thanks and may the words of duncan's songs heal the wounded areas of your hearts like what it did with mine.

well, iolas, I guess you could always check the calender for performance dates and what not. He does have the occasional world tour and does go to other places to promote his work. An example is when he was promoting phantom moon in Japan a few months ago. If you pay atention to dates like that, then you may be able to find what you're looking for in a place closer to home. Until then, I hope phantom moon comes to you soon. If you want anything else, write on the mb or email me at vector2112@hotmail.com.

Until next time, much love my friend.

Most likely, "Longing Town" and "Far Away."

They are all so very gorgeous though.

"This is How my Heart Heard" is my fav song on the album. The song takes you through the many emotions of love. The Joy, the Pain, the Pitty all of it.... From the first kiss to the bitter or sweet kiss goodbye.
I think it's brilliant, and brutually, trueful about what any relationship can put your heart and mind through.
~stay cool~

i'm always repeating "the winds that blow", "far away" and "requiescat". i find myself doing that when i'm in a pensive mood and i just finished doing worksheets for my students. just to relax, unwind, and just think the night away 'til i'm ready to sleep...

I just joined and wow, it's so wonderful to read all the comments from all of you. I know this perhaps sounds stupid, but I feel like a part of a special community with all of you who are obviously as affected by this music as I am.

As far as Phantom Moon, the whole collection is just brilliant - the lyrics, the music, the orchestrations, all incomparable. And then to have Duncan's voice above it all - full of passion and unleashed abandon - it's really something to behold.

Keeping with the topic - gotta go with The Wilderness, Longing Town, and Mouth on Fire. When the opening chords of Mouth on Fire begin, I feel like my soul is filling up.

I have to go with "Far Away" and "Lo and Behold." I love the guitar on "Far" and his voice on "Lo and Behold" is so soothing. I don't think he's ever sung better than that.

A tie between "The Winds That Blow" and "A Mirror In The Heart." No--I'd have to go with "The Winds That Blow." It is an amazing song.

I'll be honest with everyone. When Duncan's first album came out I was thrilled, then at my record stores I saw nothing. No one told me about Humming! Anyways, around my birthday I was walking around a new record store to my area and I saw Phantom Moon. I was gonna do cartwheels in the store. My friend bought it for me for my birthday. To me, "Mr. Chess", "Longing Town", "Winds That Blow", "Mouth On Fire", and "Mirror Of The Heart" are all great(I love the whole album!) but as you can tell by my user name "Lo And Behold" is my favorite.
