Crystal ~~~~++++~~~~ Love. BW (Duncan has been to the TLA and The NorthStar Bar in Philly) ** While in Philly and the area listen to WXPN 88.5 FM, WWW.XPN.ORG for great musical braodcasting and a listings of many of the finest shows in town. [This message has been edited by Blackwuzzy (edited July 26, 2002).] [This message has been edited by Blackwuzzy (edited July 28, 2002).]Mangotigerlily Ok I am normally from the NYC metro area in Nj but my friend got married in May and now lives in Philadelphia. Now the thing is that We both do not know many cool places around here for music. If any body here knows anything I would love to hear about it. Thanks.
Blackwuzzy I grew up in Philly, moved out on my own when I was about 21. Philly is definitely a Music town. There are many great Jazz spots if you like Jazz, but right now I would say check out TLA (Theater of The Living Arts) 334 South Street, (215) 922-1010 or 1011 and The Tin Angel at 20 So. 2nd. Street. (215) 928-0770. Many, many great shows come there at reasonable pricing. I frequent them both. Of course there are the very large stadium shows. What kind of music are you interested in? You may want to check out the Kimmel Centre for Classical, etc., The Academy of Music for the Ballet, and some other cool shows come to the Mann Music Center. It all depends on what your into. The suburbs of Philly have great stuff too. In August, Jonatha Brooke will be in Ocean City, NJ and Phil Roy www.PhilRoy.com will be opening for Dar Williams (I of course prefer Phil. He's one of the very best Singer/Songwriter's around, out in a Park in King of Prussia, PA area in August as well. Jethro Tull is coming to Trenton, NJ next month as well. I saw him, but a long time ago. Let me know what your tastes are. Check out of course the Tweeter Center, David Bowie and Gerry Leonard, Moby playing there next week, & the Who on another billing in Camden, NJ...just over the Ben Franklin Bridge from downtown Philly.
The Philadelphia Inquirer usually has much posted as well in it's Sunday paper,as do those downtown papers. Cheers!!!!!!

Mangotigerlily Thanks
Blackwuzzy Your welcome Crystal. Also check out the Keswick Theater in Glenside, PA. (Many great shows there as well..... close by.
