JustJennI was reading this today and had to share, just to prove it is not just me that believes Canada is a better place to live. This was released by the UN and is a ranking of countries...

The Top 10:

1. Norway

2. Sweden

3. Canada

4. Belgium

5. Australia

6. United States

7. Iceland

8. The Netherlands

9. Japan

10. Finland

duncanfanWell, how do ya like that?

Tina

JustJennShhh, Tina we should not tell them that Canada has slipped from spending many years at Number 1, however the UN says it is not a decline in Canadian standards, it is that Norway and Sweden have improved upon theirs...
BrazilI actually read an article in a brazilian magazine last month about Canada and they really did say that it's a great place to live in or visit!! It made me wanna go there on my next vacation!!!!

Silvia

JustJennSilva, it really is a good place, however if you are used to Brazil, you should for sure not come here between November and March (even April to be on the safe side) but May - October are usually nice. Although May and October themselves tend to be rainy. June - September is construction season, but that is only a slight annoyance...
BrazilJenn, thanks for the tips!! I wouldn't even dream of going during the winter...I'd freeze!!! If I can safe enough money to go, I'll probably go in July when I'm off work.

Silvia

georgejrCanada kicks ass
JustJennOh yeah Baby!!!

July is HOT, well at least in Toronto, it is hair frizzing humid...Some people do not mind, I just can not tolerate heat.

MotumboJustJenn: Do you also look like you're trying to single-handedly bring back the afro? Or even worse...the caucasian afro!

I always laugh when people say "Oooh, I wish *I* had curly hair!"
No you don't. Not in weather like this...

JustJennMotumbo, it took me a minute to understand, since I know you have a "sexy' picture of the back of my head... I was stupid and cut my hair off, which now means regardless of the flat irons and blowing it straight, I do end up with that ever sexy bed head look, I have yet to leave it curly intentionally, but yes I am sure that would be rather afro looking.
Rina316I like where I live, USA.
Glad that everyone else likes where they live as well.
If you don't like where you live, I suggest you explore other places.

~RENA~

BrazilI'm with Motumbo with the whole "I wish I had curly hair!" thing. All I have to say is: be careful with what you wish for! It's just too much work.

FunkyFredI'm from Norway, I'm just going to brag a little bit. Do visit though, right now, where I live (South of Norway) we are experiencing tropical nights, as we call them. Tropical Nights are when the temperature does not fall below 20 degrees Celsius during the night. Pretty amazing for a country this far North, eh. I swam in The Atlantic yesterday, it was lovely - 22 degrees celsius. What a country, you should all envy me

If you are considering to travel to Norway, brng lots of cash, 'cause it's bloody expensive here. Keep that in mind.

Cyndihey there fred

my best friend is norweigen. she's lives in oslo. i need to get my butt down there asap to visit. sounds like an awesome place to live

sweetsnailwell, I like Colorado, I think it is a great place to live. Just don't tell anyone else, we are having problems with population growth in my town....ugh. But hey, Norway sounds nice.
-steph
Cyndiyeah steph, i understand why people are moving there in herds perfectly. i drove through colorado a couple of years ago on a road trip and i fell in love with your state. it's gorgeous. i would be so thrilled to live there. the weather was really nice (i visited in july). i know i would be way more active outdoors if i lived there. i'm in texas and although i love my home state tremendoulsy it's just too hot to be outdoors during the summer.

KellyeIt'd be number one but Jenn lives there. hehe.

Kellye

Dustin GledhillAbsolutely! I love Canada. From US myself, but Ottawa is one of my fav. places. Montreal also. Never been to western Canada, but lived in Northern and Eastern for two years. The French-Canadien are a bit particular, but they're still great. Where in Canada are you from?

Dustin 23, Utah. www.dustingledhill.com

Kellye:: Whispering :: Jenn, this guy must be famous. He's our age, and, he's cute, too. Want me to hook you up?

Kellye

JustJennKellye-Darlin'

I have reached the ranks of old lady, I am no longer your age, hehehe.

Dustin, I am from Toronto...And yes French-Canadians are ummmm, interesting, I have had enough yell at me because I have no clue what they are saying...

True story, I was in Ottawa this guy went crazy on me, yelling and screaming, I had no clue what he was saying, finally my ex(who of course was not ex at the time) came over and starts talking to him in French, the old guy had been asking me about the bus route.

Dustin GledhillJen,

That is your name right? Where in Ottawa were you? I was in Orleans and Kanata. Great place. I did, however, learn French while I was there (two years) and learned to really like it. The people seem to be quite a bit nicer when you speak to them in their language.

Are you still in Canada? I'm going back to Montreal for some music stuff this winter. I'm really excited for it.

You been east?

Dustin.

aileenCyndi,
I am in Texas as well, in the DFW area. It is hot here in the summer time, I must agree. This summer has been quite mild in my area, only a few days over 100. The funny thing is we moved her from PA and this summer was horrible for them up there. Weeks of 100+ temps and killer humidity. One thing I like about the DFW area is there is not normally much humidity, so the heat is atleast bearable.
JustJennYep Dustin, Jenn is my name...And yes I am still in Canada, I was born here and will remain living here until the day I die and then I will be burried in Canadian soil.

I have no clue what part of Ottawa I was in, it just was not the nicest city in my opinon, we went to the market and I just felt every place I went was kinda dirty and yucky. As for learning French, I could live on the streets of France the rest of my life and I would still never learn it, I am fully and completely unable to pick up other languages. I took 7 years of French in school, and 3 of Spanish, in French, I can say the alphabet and in Spanish I can order beer. I am serious, my best friend has been speaking this code language to me since Grade 4, and I still can not speak it.

As for going East I have went just into Quebec, but that was for a wedding, and I was actually staying in Ottawa at the time. I have been west though, two summers in Alberta. South, I have stood on the beach of Lake Ontario, ummm okay that is cheating because it is a 20 minute walk from my house... Northern not really, we used to have a cottage, but it was only like 2 hours North of Toronto.

Kellye-Belly was right, Dustin you are an attractive man...Oh yeah and I like the little coming soon guys on your web-site...
