SpringrozPam Anderson has Hepatitis C. May I invite anyone who knows all the facts about Hepatitis C to explain. Because I don’t know. Can you get it from having unprotected sex? Can the virus penetrate a condom? How does it destroy the liver?

Now the issue of course being (1) will she lose fame points. she has been known to be a fantasy. she is a very attractive women and does sell the image of her body. will men (and women) stop liking her knowing she has an incurable disease? What does this say about us? (2)and if she is considered less attractive...
I know beauty is fleeting. But how can she lose her sexiness in a day? Maybe this is something the gentlemen could perhaps explain. I don’t think it works the same for women. Or does it?
(3)I was talking to a friend of mine who is female and the conversation went some thing like this. Me: M Friend: F

M: Did you hear about pam anderson?
F: yeah the hepatitis. hmm.
M: I kinda feel bad for her. sharing a needle with your husband. you would think the one person in the world you could trust would be him. especially since you are swapping every other bodily fluid, why not blood.
F: :grunt of indifference:
M: I wonder if what she says is true and he infected her.
F: I don’t really care. Thats what she gets for being a slut.

Now I know we as a female species get kinda hostile about absurdly beautiful women. Especially when all the men around you seem to be oogling at one in particular. Was she really a slut? I mean, she was a very sexual woman right? but she is a grown up. She can do whatever she wants. And I don’t think my friends is out of the ordinary with a statement like that. I think its safe to say that most ladies don’t really like pam anderson. But does a sexual woman, being she is very comfortable with her body (which happens to be attractive) and likes to be naked, and makes money from it really such a horrible thing?

Kellyei don't think much about pamela lee, but even my guy friends agree with me that she's outrageously NASTY. She looks like she doesn't bathe. I don't think she's beautiful at all. Ick.

Kellye

MohannadI only thought she was hot the first time I saw her, after that she had been downgraded to a double negative ghost rider. All my guy friends think she's pretty nasty too. If you wan't a real good looking chick, think Ali Landry. Now she's a definite fantasy.

Mohannad

JustJennPam Anderson, ha, she is not sexy, she is trashy which some people find sexy, but it is not classical sexy. I have to agree with Kellye (someone take note I am agreeing with Kellye) she does look like she has not bathed in ages, especially that hair that, I remember Amy Grant explain of her own hair, it has gotten so dirty it starts to clean itself. (and do I want to know Amy Grants problem when she advertises she does not wash her hair).

Blah Mari, I will give you answers, from what I can understand...Hep causes hepatomegaly (enlargement of the the liver), during actute inflammation the liver is unable to detoxify drugs, produce clotting factors, cholesterol, plasma protiens, bile and glucogen; it is also unable to store fat-soluable vitamins. Hep A and C have a higher mortality rate than B, because they can cause what is called fulminant hepatitis.

Hep C was discovered in 1989, the virus is spread through blood; sexual contact and mother-child transmissions are rare.

So rather than say Pam Anderson is a slut, we might want to consider Pam Anderson has an IV drug problem...

galore4That's what I'm thinkin', Jen-- I didn't really think it was a sex thing, but rather a drug problem. With my knowledge of the disease, that's the first thing that came to mind. It's quite sad.

I was lisening to Howard Stern this morning and someone on the show said they'd still "do her." I believe they mentioned that if you had to get a deadly disease, at least they'd have a cool story as to how they contracted it. Bingo. There's a winner.

However, the phone in guest, Mr. Billionaire himself, Donald Trump said he's chose life instead. No Pammy for him.

I guess it's a toss up.

Maria

PS-So, is anyone worried about Kid Rock

JustJennWell you do not always die from Hep C, most infections resolve in about 4 months, like Hep B and well some die.
SpringrozI was listening to howard too. He was joking. C'mon. But he did play that game of rating various celebs and their hotness which is always interesting to hear men evaluate super attractive and equally unattainable women.
Donald Trump has a billion dollars. Of course he would rather not sleep with her and keep his billions.

Pam said she got it from a tattoo needle that she shared with Tommy.

They reason why she finally released this info was Tommy was going to bring it out to help his chances get full time parental rights of their child.

Now I dont think she is attractive either. I think she is a horrible actress. But that doesnt matter. But questions are these:

(1) Will she lose popularity?
(2) If so, how can a woman once considered beautiful by more a hell of a lot of people (even if it isnt you) lose beauty so quickly.
(3) If she contracted the disease from her husband (who may have been unfaithful, or atleast lied about having the disease) is she still a "slut"?

galore4I know Howard was joking. So was I. I was justing refering to the way they spoke about Pam Anderson on the show in light of her recent revelation. It seems like many are going to see her in the same way (or at least the men (or women) who listen to Howard.) But, I think she'll undoubtedly lose some sort of mainstream popularity...

Maria

FunkyFredMari, congrats with your 1000th post. And I agree with Mohannad, she was sexy the first times I saw her, not even close to being hot now.
KellyeI can't believe you people listen to Howard Stern. Ugh. He's the most disgusting man on earth.

Kellye

sweetsnailsexy...mm, Pam doesn't come to mind when I think of that word...of course, I don't come to mind either...hehe. I worry about her two kids. It would suck to have Pam and Tommy Lee as your parents, in my opinion.

galore4A usual reaction. My roommate hates Howard, too. She cringes when I bring up his name. Now that I think about it, I don't know anyone that I'm friends with that actually listen to Howard. Personally, I think he's hilarious. And dognammit; he's entertaining. But, you got to keep in mind, you can't take everything he says literally. It's part of his rountine. Don't get me wrong, I don't agree with everything me says, I just take it for what it's worth: humor.

But's that's just my cup of tea.

JustJennMain stream popularity? I thought she was only popular with men and boys with idle minds...
POE I hope I'm not being rude, but Hepatitis C was discovered in 1988, not in 89'. Not that it really matters, but there it is.

Here is a little more info. on the Infection, Maybe more than you wanted to know, since I am a Teen Pregnancy and STD(STI)Prevention Counselor, I thought I share.

Sexual exposures account for about 15 percent of cases of hepatitis C.

Consequences of HCV infection. About 15 percent to 25 percent of persons with acute hepatitis C resolve their infection without further problems. The remainder develop a chronic infection and about 60 percent to 70 percent of these persons develop chronic hepatitis. Cirrhosis of the liver develops in 10 percent to 20 percent of persons with chronic hepatitis C over a period of 20-30 years, and hepatocellular carcinoma (liver cancer) in 1 percent to 5 percent. For individuals with cirrhosis, however, the rate of development of liver cancer might be as high as 1 percent to 4 percent per year.

JustJennSorry I got '89, from Taber's Cyclopedic Medical Dictionary edition 18.
galore4Haha...OK, so-- maybe the "mainstream" thing was a little if-y. I actually erased it and then put it back at the last minute. I guess she can said to be mainstream in pop culture, so to speak. She is dating a "rock star," right?
