SteveYHey everyone. I have a question for anyone who plays guitar. The other day I was sitting in my room figuring out how to play Momento, but it seems as though Duncan's guitar is between tunings on the recording. To make sure it wasn't my fault, I made sure my guitar was in standard tuning. I tried playing along again, but my guitar was still higher in pitch than the recording. So I thought, ok, maybe he has his guitar tuned off of E flat instead of E. So I retuned my guitar accordingly (standard tuning with everything moved down a half step, or one fret), and then I tried playing along again. This time my guitar was BELOW the guitar on the recording.
Basically, my point is that on the demo version of Momento that is floating around, Duncan's guitar seems to be tuned a quarter step (or half a fret on the guitar) below standard tuning. The low string must be halfway between E and E flat, and the rest of the guitar is tuned accordingly in the standard tuning pattern. Has anyone else noticed this?
BabyKarretHaven't tried, haven't noticed, but I believe (am not definite on it though) the MP3 of Memento that's floating around was made from a tape, and tapes have a tendency to get slightly distorted when being played back. My relative pitch can't stand listening to audiocassettes!

Wait 'till the pressings of the new album come out, I suppose, and things'll probably sound right.
