these days …
I wish I were posting about something non music-related but I’ve been in recording mode the past couple of weeks so that’s all I have to talk about. Specifically, David Poe and I are closing in on finishing the rock band record and the first seven Spring Awakening songs from the forthcoming cast album are also coming along nicely.
That’s all for now - I hope to see many of you in the next couple of months at the shows …

That’s great to hear, Duncan. I can’t wait until the albums come out!

Speaking of shows in the next couple months, could you tell us if these shows are with a full band, or just a man and his guitar? I’m specifically curious about the Dallas/Hermann Hall show, as it seems like much too small a venue for a full band…

Duncan:
is there a name for the new band yet? Release date? Do share.
July 17th, 2006 at 6:10 pm
Thank christ ‘Spring Awakening’ is being recorded. Any speculation as to a release date?
July 17th, 2006 at 8:40 pm
Duncan,
Are you still planning on releasing a various artists version of ‘Spring Awakening’? Or was that duets? I don’t remember.
July 18th, 2006 at 12:21 am
YEAH!!!! I can’ wait for that album. TOO COOL. I go to the old site almost every night in the “audio” thread and listen to “Love’s a Sinner” before bed. Something about it musically is so calming and relaxing to me, Can’t wait to hear the studio version.
Have you decided on a band name yet? Yes, do share-

“These days I seem to think a lot about the things that I forgot to do”
Can’t wait to see you in a week at the Troubador!
July 19th, 2006 at 9:21 pm
OK, first of all….we love the music-related posts!
Duncan + recording = :) :) :)
Also….weird!
I just wrote to David Poe earlier this week @ myspace and one of the things I asked him about was the ‘unnamed band’ album.
It seemed like you both have a lot on your plates these days and I was wondering if the project got put on the back burner.
Glad to hear from both of you that it’s in the works!
Can’t wait to hear which name you decide on!
See you at the Troubadour and Great American Music Hall!!!

Congrats on the move to Broadway…and thanks for two Chicago shows. I realize there might be a fair amount of overlap, but I (as well as others, I’m sure) will be attending both…so thank you!

I’m excited because it just so happens the day you roll though park city again will be my b-day. thanks for thinking of me. Now if I could just have a signed acoustic guitar to top off the present that would just be great, thanks ds

duncan -
my dad dragged me to “spring awakening” a couple of weeks ago. i, having no info on the play, pitched a fit and almost didn’t go. but i can honestly say that reading that article in the new york times was one of the best things my dad’s done in a long while. i went to see it a second time two days ago and am planning on seeing it again next week with a friend.
i stumbled upon your blog searching for the soundtrack info…keep us posted as to any dates for that, i’m eagerly awaiting it. i’ve had the first few lines to one or two songs stuck in my head for days now.
congrats on the move to broadway!

I won’t be able to make it up to NYC for the awakening, but I have been checking out your other projects. That CUSTOM record sounds sweet! I can definitely hear you on the track called “Give”!! Did you do the whole album?? It sounds great :)

One more thing…. How’s the Chris Garneau project coming? I’ve only heard “Relief” that he recorded on The Artists Den, and I have a feeling, with YOU producing, his record will be amazing!

Duncan, I don’t think I’ve officially congratulated you on the success of Spring Awakening……
CONGRATULATIONS! How exciting for you(and everyone else involved)! You did such a wonderful job with the music…it’s amazingly beautiful, yet nicely edgy, and it just ties in and sets the mood so well. *thumbs up* You should feel very very proud of yourself. You are capable of SO much….I look forward to all of your future projects, and am excited to see what else you’ve got up your sleeve. :D

On my side of life I have been immersing myself in writing and reading poetry…
Appearance
I look naive
I am not
Rosy skin
belying exposure to life
Flushing easily
Blue eyes wide
Fair hair
My cheeks too full
Of misleading youthfulness
Hands that have held
My hurting heart
Still dimpled
Childlike knuckles
Small voice
Soft often unassuming
Full bodied Woman
But people choose
Only to see a Girl.
Also,
volunteering at the animal shelter and spending way too many sleepless nights online!!
Oh and well, trying to unravel all the mysteries of life! lol
Aren’t we all? ; )
