limoremix update
Duncan’s out on the left coast for a few days. San Fran show is tomorrow night, so to all those attending: have fun, and show him the love. I think he’s also catching some Nero shows while he’s out there.
Before he left, we sorted through the remixes people have sent in thus far and picked out the coolest ones. There are six of them streaming now, in addition to Jamie’s, over at limoremix.com, so check them out and then head back over here and let us know what you think.
Duncan’s especially partial to the “Star-Field” ones (obvs, since three of them made the cut), but I’m going out on a limb and awarding “permanent iPod inclusion” status to Nathan Schoensiegel’s “Dawn’s Request” remix. That’s what’s known as “bringing the rock”, Nathan. I approve of this remix.
To everyone else: keep them coming!
UPDATE: A few people have been having trouble submitting remixes thanks to a problem with attaching large files to emails. We opted to handle submissions this way because the PHP uploader we were using initially turned out to be really buggy, and email seemed easier and less prone to failure. If you’re having an issue emailing files, drop us a line at limoremix@gmail.com and we’ll try to find a work-around. Cheers!

Have fun Duncan. :)
You guys! Thanks so much for these remixes! I’m enjoying them SO much. Really. I’m loving these. I have to say, I’m partial to the “Star-Field” ones as well. David Faragalli’s White Lies remix gives me *chills*. Man oh man, so PERFECT as far as what this song’s all about. LOVE that “off” beat of Michael Snyder’s Starfield as well…I’m a sucker for this sound/beat. And also love Joe Tag’s Starfield. Those three are definitely my favorites. Then, I’m also loving Michael Snyder’s “Shopping” as well.
It’a ALL good guys! I can’t wait to hear what else comes next. I’m still scared to attempt anything myself….Keep them coming PLEASE!!!!
Laura(scared to attempt anything herself…but happy to hear everyone else’s)

Wow..I submitted what I considered the traditional “remix”..not superimposing a ton of my own tracks on to Duncan’s ..but instead changing the song structure and overall sonic effects used on the tracks. It’s very interesting to hear what is possible but I in no way feel like I am “worthy” to radically change these songs into something completely different. It would be like bringing a paint set to the Louvre and thinking “That Mona Lisa…she should be wearing a sweater…” If you are interested in hearing it , shoot me an email (cranie@hotmail.com) and I’ll send it to you for feedback.

David,
I just wanted to say that your remix stunned me. You managed to make a duncan song even more potent. The mixture of lies and gunfire was absolutely eviscerating. Have you thought of doing an extended mix into the downtempo genre? Keep the dubs coming strong!
Sincerely,
tbj

Yes, a great time was had by all, over here on the “left coast” as you call it!
I especially had a great time, getting to participate in the concert, as well as getting to see Nero for it’s final performance! (They were both FANTASTIC shows!)
Duncan - Can’t wait to see you again next month in St. Petersburg!
If you need anymore help with lyrics, you know who to call! ;)

Butang Jedi,
I apprectiate your comments. Thank you. I’m not sure what you were asking, but I didn’t want to make the remix any longer than that becuase they repeatative nature of it would eventual annoy the listener. I had a definate idea in mind when I was listening to the song, and it turned out better than I’d imagened.
I just submitted another remix, so hopefully Peter, Duncan, and hi many fans dig it.

My apologies for the numerous spelling errors.

Hey there,
I hadn’t meant for you to make the “white lies” part any longer… just that it seemed like an awesome segway into an extended downtempo mix of some sort (new song etc). The song you’ve done stands for itself. Keep up the good work.

I just wanted to say…loving all the mixes streaming on limoremix…Awesome Job, guys! :-)
On another note, DS and Doug “Rocked” SF…SWEET show! Additionally, the encore songs were unexpectedly uber-Awesome ***thumbs up***
During the concert, the words “sacrifice” and “making-out” were quite popular to DS’ crazy funny mind. :D Then, as the evening progressed…”retarded” came out on top. Ummm, will someone please explain his kooky sense of humour(hahaha). Oy, I tried to stay up as late as I could(Friday night concert)…here’s a DS quote from a previous concert, “things happen when you stay up late”…duh, I tried…NOTHING HAPPENED! So, what on earth could you be referring to… :D:P
Egads…best be movin’ on before I get booted off… :D:P
Duncan, don’t kill me…just havin’ a bit of fun… ; )
Silly Cheers,
Leveriza

I saw the update about people having trouble with e-mailing mp3’s as attachments. Can you give us a few guidelines on what seems to work? For example, if the file is over 5MB, should we should try to post somewhere rather than e-mailing you the file as an attachment..?
I’m sure most of us can find a spot to post large files for you to grab…
And thanks for putting up this site, I find the remixes really cool!

The only people who have brought email problems to my attention thus far have been trying to use AOL email. This is a bad idea, pretty much universally, whether you’re emailing remixes or not. AOL no es bueno.
If anyone wants a Gmail invite, drop me a line at limoremix@gmail.com and I’ll shoot one off to you.
If you’re hosting your mix somewhere and you want to email us a direct link, that’s fine, but I’m not messing around with YouSendIt or RapidShare or any of those guys.
if you’re really having problems, just email limoremix@gmail.com and we’ll figure something out.

Absolutely love the remixes, please keep them coming! I attended Duncan’s show last night (04/13/06) in Easton, MD and it was fantastic. It was my first Duncan show, and after being a fan for 10 years, it was great to FINALLY get to see him live. Thank you Duncan for a wonderful evening and signing not only my White Limousine CD but also my “ancient” Self-Titled Cassette (the very first album of yours that I purchased). I enjoyed the show very much, please come back soon!
