limoremix.com

O.K. ?h Thanks to Todd and Peter’s tireless efforts, limoremix.com is up and running. Even if you don’t have a remix of your own to send in, please go check out Jamie Myerson’s “I Don’t Believe In Ghosts” in the upper right hand corner of the page ?h I like it better than mine.

Cheers,
DS

Wow, Jamie’s mix is incredible. I can’t wait to download it.

  2. leveriza Says:

Yes indeed, Mr. Myerson’s version is FANTASTIC! Todd, Peter, and Duncan—love the look of the limoremix site—thank you for all the hardwork.

The novices(such as myself) to this whole music wizardry business will just listen and cheer to the lovely creations… ; ) So, fervently awaiting for more!

    Mr. SEXY, YOU TOTALLY ROCK!!!
(that should perk up the right person’s ears…SNICKER)

    Best,
    Leveriza

  3. Carlos Says:

Nice section, Jamie’s mix is very impresive but I still like yours better Duncan.

  4. Topaz Says:

Very niiiiiiice Jamie. :) I was wondering if and when we’d hear any White Limo remixes from you…you did it up GOOD!

    Awesome job Jamie!! Very impressive.

I’m glad this site is up. Even though it’s unlikely that I’ll have enough time to tinker around and make a decent remix myself, I am glad to have the opportunity to hear some other mixes of Duncan’s music, especially from the point of view of the fans. This was a GENIUS idea, Duncan! Bravo!

I remixed a song, but after listening to that version-I don’t even want to post mine cause it’s pathetic in comparison-that is an incredible song mix—very professional and intricately layered, good work. Take care

Wow! That remix is unholy, spine-tingling goodness! Who wants to make-out?!

Can’t wait to see you again in SF this week Mr. DSS!

Also! I have a few new music recommendations:
-Neko Case - Her new album is perfect for those rainy, lazy Sunday mornings when you wanna just roll around in clean white sheets
-Richard Hawley - Like a Johnny Cash/Roy Orbison/Tom Waits love child with a string section - emotive, heavy, but surprisingly easy to listen to

    :D

For all you reluctant remixers out there no one should feel intimidated by Jamie?s track, or any other track that goes up. Jamie?s version is, in highly technical jargon, totally the sweet notes, but we want to hear what everyone is doing with these tracks. Please do not be shy.

That said, please, also, do not feel as though you need to adhere specifically to the original spirit of the song. Take it, or some part of it, and go off in your own direction. We?ll be streaming some versions we?ve received on limoremix.com very shortly that will illustrate what I mean. So, check in over there in the next few days, and, again, don?t be shy!

    Happy mixing.

I’d love to see a fast version of something. for someone to club duncan out - although something tells me he’d abhor any clubbiness to his stuff. unfortunately, I have no skills in the remix arena, but I anxiously await something funky to dance to….maybe shopping? god, I love that song.

  11. peter Says:

Dance/club remixes are on the way up to the site, and more are definitely appreciated. Don’t forget: dance remixes of “Reasons For Living” and “On a High” have both enjoyed beaucoup spins by DJs. Methinks there needs to be a Daftpunk VS. Duncan Sheik mash-up… who’s man or woman enough to make it happen?

  12. linnium Says:

I sent my White Lies remix to Star-Field. I hope it’s posted on limoremix. It’s on Sheikfreik.com and mysapce.

  13. noripink Says:

    sorry, i digress. . .

but be sure to listen to Paste Magazine’s podcast (paste culture club, feb. 1) with interview of duncan and intimate, stripped-down performances of white limosine and for you. brilliant.

  14. leveriza Says:

Thank you for the alert, NORIPINK (niiice find)…information has been shared on Sheik Freik. :-)

that was really sweet. mad props to Jamie and to Duncan for letting the public play with is music. your way too cool for your own comprehension (the both of you!).

  16. blackwuzzy Says:

I agree, a very beautiful version. Thanks Guy’s!!!

David — Star-Field White Lies remix is dope. Well done. It’s one of a few that are going up. Word to Metallica samples.

  18. clara Says:

I too loved Jamie’s remix- well done! I don’t think I will be able to put one together anytime soon , but kudos to all of you that have submitted or plan to.
I am listening to “Humming” right now…I haven’t listened to it in sooo long, what a great cd! (will always be one of my favorites)

    night….Clara

  19. adishannon Says:

I like the mix. I’m finding it hard to commit to a mix myself. As my all time favourite and inspired artistes, it just seems wrong ‘tampering’ with what seems to be perfect Duncan.
Well we’ll just have to see.
    Keep Cool,
    Adi

  20. Sliver025 Says:

Ok, the two Star-Field Electronica mixes are sexy. I mean unbelievably sexy. Whoever they created by, thank you. They redefined the song completely. I hate to drop a comparison like this, but it reminds me of the way i felt about Crawling by Linkin park when they dropped the reanimation CD. Needless to say, that was a pretty good feeling. I type too much. Keep up the good work and i will keep listening.

  21. damien Says:

Alright, David Faragalli’s version of Star-Field is awesome!! I’ve always been a fan of political music, and since I really think President Bush is in WAY over his head, I just think it’s a great mix!

All of the mixes are good. I’m psyched to listen to more of them!

    Take care,

    Damien

  22. linnium Says:

    LOL,

Thank you to Peter, Damien, and of course Duncan. Dunc’s one of my largest influences musically (aside from Bruce Hornsby and Metallica :) ) and it means a lot to me that a remix I made was heard by Dunc and was liked. Now I just want to break out and remix the whole dang thing! LOL.

    ~David

  23. leveriza Says:

“Now I just want to break out and remix the whole dang thing!”

Well, what’s stopping you, Mr. Politico…GET TO IT!!! David, it’s a great interpretation…gave me goose bumps(in a good way, of course). Know what else, it reminded me of when one of Reagan’s famous quote was incorporated into a song(name escapes me at the moment)…”Mr. Gorbachev, tear down that wall…” Okay, any of you remember that one!?!?!

    Cheers,
    Leveriza

  24. linnium Says:

    Leveriza,

I don’t remember that song, but I do remember a Megadeth song called “Forclosure of a Dream” where they had a quote for President george Herbert Walker Bush saying, “Congress will push me to raise taxes, and I will say, ‘No, read my lips!’” and then they repeated the last bit in an echo.

    ~David
