Wine Tasting / Q & A

In several cities along the “White Limousine Tour” tickets will be auctioned off via Ebay for a pre-show wine tasting and Q&A with Duncan. The first one announced is at the Dallas show at Gypsy Tea Room at 5PM on 1/25.

We’re bringing in the local wine rep to conduct the tasting and you can ask Duncan questions about wine, music, or anything you’d like.

You will also receive an autographed copy of “White Limousine” and then you’re invited to stay for soundcheck. You must be 21+. No more than 20 seats will be offered at each venue.

More tastings will be announced.

This sounds like oodles of fun!

    However,

Myself + alcohol (in any amount) + Duncan=
A very probable chance of embarrassment on my end.

    Hmmm. Maybe this isn’t such a good idea… ;)

I’ll start savin’ my pennies and write out a pros/cons list.

That’s sounds awesome. I hope there’s one of these close to Ohio because I’m there. Vino is one of my passions. Just give me a Brunello di Montalcino and my girl and I’m in heaven.

Hey Duncan, are you coming back to St. Louis? Caught your last 3 shows here, Vintage Vinyl, Pageant and most recent in the Duck Room. You rock bro, please come back to see us soon.

    Take care

Guess what is playing on my local station right now as I type? Yup, “White Limousine”….first time I have heard on the radio, and it was quite literally music to my ears and I was very proud and excited and all that.
Wine tasting?….a superb idea! Just hoping the Fine Line makes it happen.

Looking forward to the show at the Gypsy Tea Room. It will be the first time that me or my brother have seen Duncan, and we have been listening since the debut album 10 years ago. I am trying to get him the wine tasting ticket for his birthday, but I’m sure a few other diehards out there will have something to say about that. We were both wondering what Duncan will be like in concert, so if anyone can add some brief descriptions of previous shows, or some playlists, that would be cool.
    Thanks

    Keith

The 25th?? What, you’re too good to start on the 24th in Little Rock when I will be there?? :-(

Hey, can you just have a “get tanked with Duncan” contest? A sort of pre-cursor to the wine-tasting??? ;-)

I’ll drink ya under the table!

  12. linnium Says:

It’s kind of funny. You can almost imagine a wine bottle label stating, “White Limousine Pinot Grigio!” LOL

What I’m hoping for, is the administration will read this and feel sorry for me that I am inept(Generally incompetent and INEFFECTUAL). However, I’m expecting the usual, which is nothing. I admit that my laziness and lack of interest has prevented me from doing extensive, obsessive exploration of this site, but within the few links I did venture, I find myself wondering if I have to pay a fee or be an administrator to access the ‘members area’ I see listed to the right on the DS home page. I can access my PROFILE page and submit posts and I appreciate having that priviledge. That is the very thing I was looking for when I decided to do a web search on Duncan Sheik. So is there a reason that I am not authorized to access your web server using my same username and password? I also want to point out that I have made several comments and the counter at the top of my PROFILE page says 0!

Duncan I know you start your tour tomorrow, just wanted to say I hope you have a blast! Enjoy the time and I hope you got everything done you wanted to before you left.

    Hey Duncan,

I?ve been checking out the site since I heard you on xpn two weeks ago, and I just wanted to sign on and wish you the best with the tour and the new cd. I also want to thank you for taking a stand and speaking out through your music. I know you have taken some flak for doing so (even here among people who appear to think a lot of you — even if they don?t agree with your politics ;)), so I would imagine that it might get a little rough out there in the real world. If it does, just remember that even though you stand alone, there are many people out here who respect, appreciate, and support what you are doing. That?s one of the things I love best about the SGI ?g knowing that while I face my personal struggles on my own, there are millions of people all over the world who are trying to illuminate the darkness by shining the light within a little brighter. I?m here by myself, but I know I?m not alone, know what I mean? And I think the world is getting brighter, and maybe that?s why we can see more clearly some of the problems. Anyway, I hope you have a great tour; maybe I?ll see you on the road. Thanks again and keep on shining.

Wish I could be there. Wine is really delicious. Duncan and wine and music and a few people with good vibe… well I am sure it will be awesome. Too bad I won?Lt be able to go.

By the way, Duncan, you never got to answer me. Will you wander to tropical countries, like Brazil? I am still expecting your performance here. And the rest of your devoted brazilian fans, of course.

Anyway, the best luck with WL. By the way, when is it going to be released here? Or it will only be avaiable via importing catalogs/internet purchase? Oh my God, too many questions… sorry.

Best wishes. Light in your head, love in your heart, peace in your soul.

This sounds cool.. Tho i doubt you will be doing this in utah, i was looking at the other auctions. There is 2 bad things about this.
    1) its for one person. (most people are going at least with 2 people)
    2) it in ludes a concert tix (good thing) but people who will want to do this should already have the tickets.

so saying i wanted to do this.. I would have 2 win 2 auctions and then that would leave me with a pair of unused tix.
more im complaining this is for only one person..
just put my name on the guess list and plus +1 and ill forget i ever posted this post! =)
    FEB 1ST PARK CITY, UT!!!!!!!!!
    CANT WAIT!!!!
Best of luck with the tour!

  20. jaxtonypiper Says:

I should learn my lesson…. i just spoke with a woman at the scheduled show in Little Rock. Verifying and what-not….. show is stilll on (hopefully), I also mentioned the overall excitment about getting to meet Duncan after the show and she flat out told me, “Yeah. That probably won’t happen… you should probably get real or plan for dissapointment.”

:-( What a cow… crushing my hopes like that.

    Now I feel all “Blah.”

  21. Tansy Says:

    Jax! That’s horrid!

Duncan’s usually pretty cool and hangs out afterwards.
    There’s a like, a 90% chance he’ll stay- unless it’s really a late show.
Or maybe because the next venue’s far away… ?
I’ve been to four shows, and I’ve spoken with him each time.

Maybe the “cow” lady sat on a fork? (ow!)
I’m sure that’d be enough cause for crankiness/the smashing of dreams. :)

    Anywhooo.
    Sheiky and crew, be safe!
Rest as best as you might, and GOOD luck!
    Have a great tour!

  22. Celandine Says:

As if I haven’t done enough Duncan damage on eBay already! ;)
Hope you’ll be doing this at the Independent in SF.
I will SO be there if you do!

I appreciate so much that you take time out of your busy life in order
for us, your devoted fans, to have the opportunity to meet you!
Guess that’s why we all adore you the way we do! :)

  23. FlipNPG Says:

Yeah each concert ive been to Duncan been cool hung out and talked to everyone.. shouldnt be a problem.. will sign just about anything.. Thank u Duncan for being so cool!

  24. Litterbit Says:

    Duncan and friends,

What an awesome idea. Well, if your tour takes you anywhere near Santa Cruz, CA, call my friend Malcom at David Bruce. He can hook you up with some pretty spectacular reds, and some luciouious whites, their Chardonnay(yet to be releaset LOL) is really good, rich and butterey, with a hint of flowers & citris. Then there’s Mike at Soquel Vinyards(one of the Bargetto kids), and Mark at Burrell School Winery(also very good reds, and their Claret is to die for).

Look forward to seeing one of your shows soon,

    Elizabeth

I won the bidding for pre access to the show at Gypsy Tea Room..What should I be expecting from DSManagment?

  26. leveriza Says:

Hooray for Keith and everyone else! This sounds too much fun…wine tasting with Duncan Sheik…organic wine that is and then you get to ask him questions on anything…does that really mean ANYTHING???

Not to mention a quasi Tte Tte and then wine with DS…now, that could be living dangerously and sounds like FUN. Have a superb time to those of you who have won tickets and PLEASE, try not to scare DS ; )

    Cheers,
    Leveriza

  27. kaustin24 Says:

Anyone have and questions that you would like me to ask at the wine tasting/QA time? Mind that I am a guy and am not going to ask any personal questions, only ones that pertain to his music and future plans. If it works out where I get to ask some, I wouldn’t mind getting back to you with some answers. I want everyone to feel like a part of the tour, even if you don’t get to go.

    Keith
