Nero
For more info on Steven’s and my latest collaboration, check this out …

Though “Nero” is not a musical by any stretch, it does have six songs for which I wrote the music.
And it’s very political … so everyone get your claws out. : )

Well thank you DS, for the information! For anyone interested in going, might I suggest you purchase your tickets ASAP. It is getting lots of buzz here in the SF area and I do not think you want to miss this one. The Magic theatre has been been supporting excellent programs over the years and it is an excellent venue. Now, who wants to take a lovely mini trip to San Francisco… :-)
BTW, DS will you be part of the panel discussion on April 7th? That is when I am seeing the play…thought it would be interesting to hear the process up close and personal. Best of luck with everything again…all your current projects sound EXCITING…be sure to KEEP US UPDATED… :-)
Cheers,
Leveriza

Ah how I would love to go — too bad it just happens to be a bit of a drive from good old NY sigh. It looks awesome though - I saw Nero back here @ Cornell last year when it was still being workshoped and I bet it’s just been getting better and better the more you work on it. Any chance you’ll ever record some of the songs from the show - i know ‘lover from hell’ is up already but what about the ‘don’t trust too much’ one?

You know, I thought you were British.
TOO funny.
Just a thought….but now that Santa Claus has become the celebrity mascot for Dec. 25th, will the swearing of “Santa Claus, Almighty!” become the new trend as it did for the has-been J.C?!!
You don’t have to answer that. I’m being sarcastic, is all.
I’m not a Santa fan.

Thanks for the info Duncan. Guess I am uninformed as to what “Nero” is. No longer!!

“….the dangerous excesses of this controversial boy-emperor.”
Sounds brilliant!!! And…. dare I say it?….. very familiar.
Prophetic, even.
hmmmm…….

Very tempting excuse to trek to San Fran.

Dunc,
This is totally unrelated, but I had a dream of 3 guitar players doing a tour together for years, and it finally came true when Steve Via, Joe Satriani, and Eric Johnson started G3. I’m hoping another dream will come true:
John Mayer, Rufus Wainwright, Duncan Sheik.
Comments, Dunc?

If only SF were a 30 minute drive… Sadly, the only week I could possibly fly out I might be spending in Argentina.
What’s the chance that the production might eventually make its way to New York?
Best of luck juggling all the work you have to do, Mr. Sheik.
Cheers,
Maria

Any clue of the production finding its way out in the Midwest?
I know it’s a vast wasteland of too many emo-indie kids
wearing girls? jeans while doing meth amidst cornfields,
but there are some redeeming theaters in Chicago.
Lots of them.
Go here, and see for yourself.
Or at least pass it on to the someone in charge of the booking. Please?
Duncan, I’m on my virtual knees.
Night sir.

Hey Todd (or Peter)?
I was reading a thread on sheikfreik.com, and apparently a few people can’t log on to D?s blog, and/or can’t get access to their passwords (even if they re-register). I think one girl actually needs to email you about an order that she hasn’t received?g but because she can’t get access to her password, she can’t get in touch. :(
Think you can help? I?m sure they?d be super happy.
Schanks!

Hey, The Loft on XM Radio is playing a bunch of stuff off White Limo right now “In Spite of” their rule that they cannot play more than three songs in a row by a single artist! Good stuff!! Just what I needed. What a great surprise.
