Happy New Year
O.K. it’s been fun reading all the back and forth but … let’s give it a rest for a minute.
I hope everyone has an amazing new year … peace, love, and all that.

Happy New Year to you, too. Did you do anything fun New Year’s Eve? I stayed home with my fiance, who’s recovering from surgery. We played Mancala, ate sushi, and watched the Twilight Zone marathon.

1st post here: The first song I ever learn how to play on guitar was ‘barely breathing’. I’ll never forget sitting in my Dorm at Sheppard, AFB and practicing, to me at the time, the weird chords that sounded so good… I eventually learned about voicings, progressions and the happy anguish that is, music composition. So, for what its worth, in 1997 a single song an Airman was obsessed to make his own brought on an entire (self taught) music education. May the New Year bring us all inspiration!
Thanks,
David.

Happy New Year Duncan and all on this blog!! Yep, can’t think of a better way to start the year than with a new DS album. I just ordered Phantom Moon (for some reason never bought it before), so I have two new albums to love.

I’d like to say that I spent my New Years alone in my room. Does anyone else have a similar sob story? If so, lets hear it!

Uh oh! My first Duncan show is less than a month away! This is going to be great… I can’t wait to hear the new material! Any chance you could possibly rock out to “Rubbed Out” at the Fort Collins show?
January 4th, 2006 at 12:29 pm
Happy new year to you too, Duncan. Looking forward to catching the show this Friday at XPN’s World Cafe in Philadelphia.
Here’s hoping 2006 brings you many good things.
January 4th, 2006 at 2:14 pm
You know Lev… I like this… ))((
I think it?s a good symbol for attempting to convert people to ideas.
Kind of like thought-waves, crashing into each other-
and maybe rippling back to the sender?
Back and forth, back and forth. :D
Just my tidbit.
Have a good year (again!).
Susann
January 4th, 2006 at 2:45 pm
you’re gonna get people in trouble with the back and forth symbol, Leveriza! i don’t think all the folks saw “me and you and everyone we know”. . .
guitar 1696-just about every DS performance i’ve seen included “rubbed out” and i’m not complaining.
so when everyone writes “i’ll see you at [such and such] show” do you really spot each other? well, see you at the troubadour. (will be there 3 times in 2 weeks!)
happy newish year.
January 4th, 2006 at 4:45 pm

January 6th, 2006 at 8:06 am
Happy New Year from the U.K.!!! Hope you come H E R E soon!
in fact, i think i’m spotting the beginnings of a European tour! i think it’s way overdue - you American’s don’t know how good you’ve got it! or maybe you do.
ben.
January 6th, 2006 at 8:07 am
and why would “American’s” have an apostrophe, i hear you ask? because it’s implying the possession of a very happy new year. what a save!
ben.

Yup, happy new year to you all,
may your wishes come through,
for you and your love, too,
and if you are alone,
I hope the year will bring
you a time you are happy
and ready to sing
to the world in a lighter tone.
So get thorugh your valleys of fear,
and find someone to hold dear.
January 6th, 2006 at 8:21 pm

I absolutely hate to post this here, but I really need help updating my email address with the members only section and buying a tee shirt from the marketplace. Fanbot hasn’t returned any of my emails. My email is dryadgirl@gmail.com
Sorry again!

Happy New Year to you too, DS :) Quick question to any/all of you fans out there. I once heard the song Orpheus, but can’t find it anywhere. How can I get a hold of this great song??
January 8th, 2006 at 12:21 pm
Sonic … Orpheus is the 4th track on Humming Along, which was a promotional only EP follow-up to Humming … and very hard to come by…
It also holds
River Man (Nick Drake)
Blasphemous Rumours (ML Gore)
and
Reel Around the Fountain (Morrissey/Marr)….
best of luck in your search!

I saw the 12/31/05 show at the Orpheum in Boston. Then, a few days later, I was in a camera store with my girlfriend, looking at bags, when I thought I heard something familiar on the radio… yes, that’s a white, white, limousine. Must have been WXRV.
