I just saw her at the knitting factory tonight. Pretty special, I must say. She does almost all instrumental, alternate guitar tuning pieces and they are both gorgeous and rocking at various moments.
She’s playing the night before I am at the Iron Horse so check her out if you are in that hood.

I bought her album, Legs to Make Us Longer, a few months ago. I must say that I like her style, even though it makes me hungry for words. A great cd to chill to. Artists like these are always better in concert. Glad I have yet another album that lines up.
good luck with your show,
tbj
if you have a chance… check out the new album from Feist, “Let It Die”. I have it on repeat these days. Anyone else heard this album?

I saw her here in CT at this freaky Puppet Theater… very small venue w/ a weird vibe. An awesome local guitarist friend named Shawn Persinger had the honor of opening up for her. Great show, great virtuosity. She does sing a little. It’s always great to see other women out there being recognized for their playing ability. (you go girl!)

I’ve never heard of her before today, but I definitely like what I heard when I popped over to her site. Now to find some spare money to get her CDs…

…speaking of The Iron Horse…great show last night! Very SOLID, I must say. :D You, Doug, and Gerry are the best. Oh, and thanks for shaking things up a bit with “River Man”, and “Reel Around the Fountain”. Absolutely unexpected, and absolutely bananas I tell ya!

She’s GREAT. Opens up the mind to a different kind of listening. Saw her this past week at Club Passim in Cambridge, MA. She was playing two shows in a row… she was really great at compensating for her instrumentals with humorous talks between songs. But she doesn’t need compensation, her playing (or as she called it “fucking around”) is VERY cool. I’d REALLY like to see her score a movie (REALLY).
I think she’ll have a great career because she can keep her core audience but has the skills to do SO MANY awesome side projects and collaborations. I’d like to see the Grammys get their act together and reward her. Otherwise, I give up on those shiny thangs.

After seeing her website, I just had to go buy the CD. I got the only one for sale in town, apparently. Great stuff!
