some kind of something

16. I’m possibly biased, but my lady is the hottest piece of ass at this party.

15. Walking to the party with two Tonys in my backpack. That’s how I roll.

14. Yeah, so we did okay tonight. Congrats to everyone. Let’s party.

13. Dude from frasier beat Jon Groff. Boo. Best musical coming…

12. The kids just did their thing and it was great, but I have a question for someone in standards and practices: how is it okay to say “bitch” but its not ok to say “breasts”? Weird.

11. This phone might die. Apologies in advance if we get separated.

10. Michael Mayer is best director. And he really is, too. Good speech, too.
God I’m starving and I need a drink. Several.
The SA cast performs a little after 1030. None of you better be watching HBO right now. Tivo, people.

9. I do have me some soft spot for mary poppins. There’s some fucked up shit in that movie. Chim chimminey? Those dudes were smoking the good stuff.

8. Dunc and Steven took best score. Wow. Choreography coming…and bill Jones takes it. Holy shit.

7. STEVEN!!! Best book.

6. Johnny G. took best featured actor. Love that kid.

5. Here we go. You all better be watching. I need a drink already.

4. We won best lighting. Good start.

Also, on the way in Vanessa Redgrave winked at kacie.

3. Duncan just won best orchestrations. We litterally just sat down.
That was amazing.

2. In the car approaching radio city. Kacie is walking in and sitting with duncan but I am of the opinion that her dress is slit WAY too high. No one better look.

1. Ok.I may periodically steal people’s devices to post, but not a lot cus I didn’t find one to use all night.

I will say right off the bat: the portions at Londonbar are ridiculously small. Also Steven Sater is wearing a hedi slimmane tux that I covet.

Small portions at the London Bar…because they want you to stay nice/hottt…or just spend more really, but a good bar wouldn’t you say???

Okay, I have more guests to entertain and I see cocktails being shaken/stirred without me…must dash off… Good luck to all! :-)

    Cheers!

    Today the weather
Not too hot, nor too cold
    Just perfect
    A breeze is blowing
    Birds are singing
And Love is in the air

My Heart is filled with Joy

    Funny the way things work
I do not know for sure
It looks as if Luck shall be in your favor
    But today won?t be Luck
Today will be Words of Truth
Lyrics so lovely, one cannot even begin to comprehend
The pen from which one writes
Your Inspiration has come from many places
    As mine from you
Not totally of course, but maybe I have played even a small part in yours
I would be thankful for that
The World is a funny place
Where most times true talent goes unrecognized
Tonight, I am hoping ?g The World will prove us wrong
    Steven?s Words
    Duncan?s Music
    Michael?s Direction
    And endless Actors shall partake
In being honored for what they do best
And what do they do best?
Aside from their own Artistic, Musical Achievements
These Men have made our World a better place
A place where we can all Hope
Work and hope someone is listening; that our Hard Efforts are not for naught
Tonight shall be Your Night My Friends and I am so happy to share it with you
I wish you the very best for years and years to come and May the Fruits of your Labor
    Be ever so, so Sweet.
    You Deserve it all.
For years to come, I shall support you and do my small part in encouraging you to be Strong.
    Yes, someone is listening
    No doubt about that
I thank you from the bottom of my heart
May you all shine for many, many years to come
    I know you will
This is only a beginning from which Great Masterpieces shall grow
In my time of solitude I pray for you and for your Health and Happiness
May your Achievements and Accomplishments, only grow as we age and see our lives change
    Today is Yours
    I love you Guy?s
I cannot ever thank you enough, but I can only try

May the Sun always be shining upon You
And the Winds gentle breeze at your sides
May Life be good to you and fair
Stay True To Your Hearts and to Those who Hold you ever so Dear
May many Petals of Love Fall Upon you Tonight and for the Rest of Your Lives.

    Musical theater rocks….because of Duncan!

Spring Awakening is KILLING! It is definitely the “star” of the night. By far. The audience is going wild. Everyone looks beautiful. And I loved every single one of their acceptance speeches.

    *sigh* Good stuff.

K, commercial’s over. Must watch Spring Awakening win more awards….

Thank you for filling us in Peter. Now go find yourself a drink or two.

  14. mike. Says:

Quietly watching from about three miles due south of you. Many many kudos to you fine people.

  15. Topaz Says:

The “Oh What a Night” dudes were creeping me out! Yes they were.

    Spring Awakening performance SOON!

  16. ALackofColor84 Says:

I agree. The last guy on the right (of the TV screen) was making me laugh though.

  17. ALackofColor84 Says:

Congrats to everybody. What a great way to end the night.

Peter, I was also wondering why breasts isn’t OK to say on air. It’s not like the lyric is ‘tits.’

    Josh

  18. mike. Says:

And you can’t say “apples” either, I guess. Weird.

Congrats on the win! Richly deserved. Go get something to eat. Please. We worry. ;p

  19. swampgirl Says:

Congrats to everyone…what an incredible night! Thanks, Peter, for sharing with us. Give Duncan a hug from the bloggers/Sheikspeakers, and go enjoy the after parties…

    E

  20. Topaz Says:

The bleeping got a little outta hand if you ask me.

    Anyway.

Congratulations to everyone!!!! You guys kicked Broadway butt!

So very much deserved, every single award.

Congrats Duncan, Steven, etc. I bought 2 tickets for the show in Aug knowing that it would win a ton and tix would be hard to get afterwards. I assume Duncan is not at every show but I would love to chat for a sec with him…
Anyone feel like we’ve lost him to the theater where he is more “successful”? Why record albums and tour when he can do this? (I REALLY hope this isn’t the case).

  25. nothingspecial Says:

On my birthday, I’ll be sitting next to a Tony Award-winning cast (I have stage seats for June 23rd…my 24th birthday). This is super exciting.

  26. nothingspecial Says:

Oh and Peter…thanks for keeping us posted. You rock so hard bro.

  27. blackwuzzy Says:

Hey, you Guy’s and Gals must still be sleeping or better yet —Just going to Sleep. Anyway the Night was just Totally Smashing and you must know that I only capitalize Words to emphasize points when I write; and as any good Writer should never do is be in a hurry when typing up something. Though I only had less than 1 drink, I just checked and I do believe that I left out 2 sentences above. Sorry about that, so here is where they fit in.

(I wouldn’t want anything to be left out) Don’t tell me I have to read that whole thing over again :) Let me see…

    After:

Your Inspiration has come from many places
    As mine from you
    Yours from me

& Yes, (Because this is Important)

These Men have made our World a better place
A place where we can all dream
A place where we can all hope
    ……………………………………………

A few simple words to say thank you. The rest shall take it’s natural course and I believe we will all be happy with the results. God how I love your Guy’s. I must say it again. Thanks for what “All of You” have given us!!

    Best regards,
    BW :)

  34. russelld Says:

    Dear Duncan,

I know that you probably don’t read this thing anymore, but I wanted to say how much I truly love your music, on the off chance you still happen to read these comments.

I am very happy for you having experienced such a great success with Spring Awakening, but I also (selfishly) hope it does not mean we miss out on anymore of your music. The beauty of your creations is absolutely astonishing to me and you continue to be one of my greatest musical inspirations. Somehow I got a hold of a track called “Until,” which sounds like it should be on “White Limousine.” Even though I have no clue where it came from (and I am an avid fan of everything you have done), it is absolutely breathtaking.

Thank you for taking the time to talk to me, in a time that feels like so long ago. To you, I was probably just another sputtering fan, but, to me, it was an event I will never forget, especially since you were so down-to-earth and gracious.

I wish you continued success, even if it means you never put out another CD again. You have always stayed true to the type of music you want to make and you deserve more credit than you are often given, especially since you are so talented.

    Really, thank you.

Just had to get that out.

    - Russell
