Members Only We Hardly Knew Ye.
With a heavy heart, we announce the dissolution of the DS.com Members Only area. Thanks to everyone who participated in this noble experiment, and rest assured, you?ll continue to have access to everything in there for the duration of your subscription.
As some of you feared, updates were few, and dutiful posting was more challenging than we thought it would be, thanks to Spring Awakening, and film scores, and rock bands, and producing, and other various projects, all of which Duncan tries to juggle at once.
Anyway, it?s all over now, but we?re working on incorporating an embedded music player into the site which should satisfy some of the multimedia void around here and also be very easily modified and updated. So that?s something.
[Admin note: existing members can email members at fanbot dot com with password or exp. date questions.]

I admit, that was a source of some annoyance to me. The idea seemed so promising. I was hoping some live recordings would come out of the White Limousine tour; the guitars at some of those early shows were so intense. The guys just seemed really ON.
And could someone please tell me why your guitarist fans can’t get any copies of tablature? Does it have to do with the labels and their publishing rights? It’s not like they’re going to start selling Phantom Moon fake books anytime soon. Even if we could just get the tunings the songs are in (like in the Humming album liner notes) we’d be in better shape. How ’bouts it?

This message you send to me makes me sad.

Would love to seen an embedded player on here. Sorry to hear about the members area. I had joined it a long time ago, but haven’t visited since.

speaking of Spring Awakening, read the L.A. times review of the soundtrack:

it’s at the bottom of the page.

Alas, poor Members Only, I knew him well.
I will miss the section, I truly will. But, in truth, there were not enough updates (which is why I did not renew my subscription — once I had it all, I did not really need it, you know?).
Now if we could only get Duncan to actually come talk to us again!

I agree with bryanwyoung, guitar tabs or at least tunings would be great. It’s kinda hard to learn a song when you don’t even have the tuning. Personally, I would be willing to pay for tabs if they were placed on the site.
March 9th, 2007 at 11:05 am
I just hope that Duncan doesn’t take the fact that people let their memberships lapse as a lack of interest. I think there are a lot of people who would love access to live recordings, demos, versions of him singing the theater songs, tabs, etc. AND would be willing to pay for them, but they just don’t want to pay over and over for the same set of songs. Of course, it’s great that Duncan’s been so busy that this hasn’t been his highest priority (Spring Awakening!), but maybe he can do soundboard recordings of his much shorter tour this year and have some live things to share without too much effort…or maybe I don’t know what I’m talking about and that’s harder than it sounds…

I also agree with the idea to post tabs and or tunings! I would love to be able to rock out with my guitar while listening to the cd!

Hey D
It would be a great gift to all of your fans if you could post your guitar tabs/chords on your website. It is very hard to find accurate and quality tabs online and alot of us are not talented enough to figure it out. :)
Thanks again and please come back to Austin soon!

Test. I need to see if this still works.

Before this forum dissolved I wanted to write what an experience it was to hear DS perform in concert for the first time last week. Duncan was sublime, as was Holly, completely transfixing. Consider me a convert. “Daylight” always seemed to make my roadtrip roster, but this current CD has me wanting to learn more (and tell everyone I know). The lyrics of Fantastic Toys and Corduroys are tough, for example, and I don’t know how DS was able to belt out such a powerfully introspective song in a theatre — a couple of days before Mother’s Day. Courageous and evolving. Thanks for creating one of those albums that rides out for years.
May 16th, 2007 at 9:33 pm
Wow! Tony nominations!
(JLHH, i hope you’ve checked out all the DS albums.)
May 17th, 2007 at 5:53 pm

PS: Thank you for the 03/27 link. I knew I liked Duncan — *Buddhism*, Diane Von Furstenberg, former Catholic.

Congrats on 11 nominations, Duncan. You’re going to be too big for your humble little blog soon. :D

Duncan, i am a new memeber here!
May 23rd, 2007 at 10:24 pm
Duncan,
Since the beginning, you have always supported me and my Works. I have been giving this back to you for years and years now. I love all of your works….(Putting that aside) I am truly so, so Happy beyond what words could ever explain/express what I feel in my Heart for this place and time today for you, et. al. I love the new Look here on your Site. I was wondering only where, one might be able to listen to some Tracks of some of your prior Works, which previously may never have been heard by Others? You have all worked so, so hard over these years and your Generosity, Kindness, Humbleness, Faith has only grown stronger each day. I thank you for all of this, for the Person that you are….and the Rest as we May now say is Going to be a part of a very Long History of Tremendous Success beyond any of our Original Wildest Beliefs. No One deserves it more than you Guy’s !!!! I am very thankful that you are in this World, shining your Light and Heavenly Creations. My Heart and thoughts are always with you. (Always and they have never left for not even one Moment) Enjoy the Ride.
PS. Maybe Now Jeremy can put out that Book of your Photo’s. All of them. Such ashame for us not to see them all in a Book for Sale.
All my love, (And thats alot)

So is this going to be updated ever again?
May 28th, 2007 at 5:52 pm
Duncan,
How’s life? Hope things are going great. I just got a new job, so I can listen to your music anytime I want. On the whole, it’s okay, but getting to put on any kind of music you want all day certainly makes things better.

Hey Sheik-
I’ve a had a really crappy day on Wednesday (involves a dude and my heart kinda imploding). Anyway. I needed a comforter, something that could kinda drown-out the noise in my head.
And it’s been you. You’re noise, shutting mine up.
Thank you for being a soft place to land.
Come back to Illinois soon.
That charity was pretty awesome, but I have bills and didn’t get to see you. :( You come back and play the Double Door. I buy ya a beer or something.
Much love,
